Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Easy to find, very clean facilities for cooking, washing up and showering, good location for travelling north or south, pitch was perhaps a little smaller than we had previously, but adequate for an over night stay, nice marina, a few cafes and restaurants in the village and a well stocked local shop.

Excellent location next to the harbour. The campsite has all amenities and I was well looked after. I recommend the mailboat trip around the Pelorus Sound, with the visit to a farm included (need to take a packed lunch).

Only stayed there one night with our campervan. Due to technical problems with the ferry and a detour because of a car crash on the road we arrived there only after midnight. Luckily we could let them know in advance and they prepared everything for us, so we had an easy and quick self check in! Bathroom was nice and clean and whole camping site seemed cute. Great for what we needed.

Disappointed on checking in that they no longer participate in Campsaver for NZMCA members. After parking up & speaking to fellow members next to us, who had checked in earlier, who got the Campsaver discount, it left us thinking a bit. Maybe ask first before driving in!

We stayed here in a campervan for our last two nights in South Island to explore Queen Charlotte Sound, Picton and Blenheim for a day before catching the ferry across to Wellington. The site is between the centre of the village and the marina and so very well placed for catching the morning Pelorus Sound Mail Boat cruise (although we didn't ourselves). Although it isn't picturesque as a site it worked very well and the facilities were spotless. The pitches were all level. The showers are free but timed on a push button for 6 minutes of hot water which we found to be no problem. Tip: get ready and turn the shower control to "Hot" before pushing the button - mix to suit after hot water quickly arrives. Birgitte (not Bridget - my error!) was very helpful but we wished we'd said we were heading to Kenepuru Sound too as the road off Queen Charlotte Drive was closed long-term except for residents due to major storm damage. We can recommend the village up Anakiwa road instead as a great place to see the QC Sound's Grove Arm and stop to make breakfast.

Great spot for my Outdoor Education class to stay for the night. Friendly staff that were helpful with booking and organising a invoice for the school. Great location near marina and shops and a big field for the kids to run around on.

Great place to stop off for the night. A great stop after the ferry and got us closer to our destination. Everything ready for us and super comfortable. Recommend the cabins for cost and comfort. Would love to go back when I have more time.

Super cute cabin with everything we needed - kitchenette, shower, toilet, comfy bed, heating, parking outside etc. Only a two minute walk to the main street to the Four Square and restaurants. Great location backing onto the marina, and we really appreciated being able to bring our dog.

Great camp to stay at. Situated within the township and marina. Only a short walk to restaurants and other facilities in the town. Found Tony and Brigitte friendly and helpful especially helping out with our KiwiStay membership problems. Havelock is always a stopping point when travelling in our motorhome and if staying over, Havelock Holiday Camp is where we nestle into.
