Sharon & Brent were great hosts & the experience was top notch. We shared a very nice meal with them & would have loved to stay longer. The rooms were of a good size & the view from the deck over the native bush was breath taking
I stayed only one night at Pelorus River Views, but I could have stayed a whole lot more - this place is truly lovely. Sharon and Brent are wonderful hosts, brimming with kindness, local knowledge and great humour. Sharon is also a fantastic cook. There are two rooms, both equally comfy and the layout and detail is incredibly well planned. I arrived by bicycle from Picton on a stinking hot day, so a swim in the river (there are indeed plenty of views of the Pelorus River) was a great treat. I enjoyed a wonderful and restful night here which was just as well, as the next day I cycled the infamous Maungatapu Saddle to Nelson....a long and exhausting day.
This is by far the best accomodation I had during 3 months of travelling through NZ! Sharon and Brent are excellent hosts. Welcoming, supportive, knowledgable and charming. The rooms are really nice, the dinner is outstanding! The ideal place, when you are setting off for a long hike/tramp through the mountains, to leave well fed, well rested and well informed. Highly recommended.
Brent and Sharon are perfect hosts - no one could make you feel more welcome. Their b&b home is purpose built, with exceptional attention to detail and comfort. It is a lovely quiet and relaxing location. (rural, so bring the ear plugs if you don't appreciate roosters in the neighbourhood). I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and recommend it without hestiation. I was solo cycling from Picton to Nelson and it worked out very well as a halfway stop to rest up for the next days hills.
This is a beautiful valley to visit and what better place to stay than Brent and Sharon's! The accommodation is beautiful with everything you could wish for and the hospitality is incredible. The hosts are wonderful at making sure you have everything you need and are always up for a friendly chat. They are a wealth of information about the surrounding areas and helped us immensely in planning the next stage of our trip. The food is to die for and you must go for a swim in the beautiful Pelorus River. Book it now, you won't regret it!
This was a welcome stop over for two weary cyclists! it could not have been better - great accommodation which was spacious and comfortable. Views to die for and a swim in the river as well! Our hosts Sharon and Brent could not have been more welcoming and the evening meal remains a highlight of our NZ travels. Terrific place....
We had five nights at Pelorus River Views, our longest stop in any one place in three weeks in NZ. We arrived late on Xmas Day and despite their having had Xmas lunch with the family our hosts put on a barbecue of their own home grown meat, more than we could eat by a large margin. Sharon and Brent strike a nice balance of being around and happy to chat and tell you about the area, and leaving you to your own devices. Brent knows everyone and everything about the local mussel, oyster and salmon farming industry. We had a large bedroom, a secluded corner of the verandah, and free run of the vast sitting room. As there were no other guests we had the bathroom facilities to ourselves. Apparently, there is a plan to create ensuites. Delightful views down the valley from almost every room. You can swim at Pelorus Bridge, or just down the hill from the house, or, as we did, drive up the valley along a rough road to take the walk to Emerald Pool. Havelock is not far away, and it's easy to reach Blenheim and Marlborough. And don't miss the Pelorus Sound Mailboat which is a great way to spend a relaxing day while the skipper and mate deliver the mail. Sharon and Brent were very warm and kind. We wholeheartedly recommend Pelorus River Views.…
We had a delightful stay in this beautiful home, lovely quiet location, very comfortable excellent accommodation, a wonderful view, with native forest, Pelorus River and NZ Te Araroa walkway close by. Awesome hosts, very friendly and great cooks.
We had a great stay at this gem of a B and B. The bedrooms are luxurious and our bed very comfortable. Best nights sleep I have had in ages! If you want to get away from it all and unwind in stunning countryside this is definitely the place. Sharon's cooking and baking were literally the icing on the cake. We can't wait for the chance to go back in the summer.
This place is awesome and highly recommend. Stunning location to relax and chill as well as explore the river and surrounds. Hosts are wonderful, very friendly, outstanding baking and food to die for. Easy to have time on your own or have a nice chat over a glass of wine in a magic environment. It is a pleasure to recommend this place. A true Kiwi gem.
