we have this wrong notion that government based places are bad. a stay at tamarind thirssur is going to prove you wrong. excellent food, though the choice is limited. staff extremely courteous. and the superior room that they have recently added is indeed a class apart. congrats to all of you there !! keep up the good work !!!
Its a doable hotel...however there are some good points of the hotel...the compound itself is quite huge and has a huge garden area with a good number of trees...because of these trees you would feel a bit cool inside your rooms as well...the hotel is centrally located...
There is a free parking facility...there is a concierge service also at the front desk...but then that's it!
No free breakfast, no room service, no free/paid wifi, also no lift...
The hotel has a rustic feel that of a Kerala home...the architecture is that of Kerala style...
However the rooms are pretty much airy...and the bathrooms are quite big...
I would rather suggest you to get food from outside than to have food in the restaurant...
Centrally located. The rooms were clean and bathroom ultra clean. AC worked and so did the geyser. clean sheets. AC and TV remote did not work. the breakfast does not start till 8 AM though we were told 7 AM. but the staff made up with their politeness. Do not look for any great service or amenities.
No lift, so if you are in the AC deluxe room, make sure you travel light. Plan your stay as the check in and check out time is 3 PM (very odd).
Regret having made this choice but frankly there are not too many options available in Thrissur. It is a lodge and do not expect service or housekeeping if you lock the room and take the key away. Has a beer parlour adjacent to the main hotel entrance and not a very good sight at night. Rooms are below average, poor furniture and very badly maintained. Corridors stink and line provided was of poor quality. One good thing was there was abundance of hot water apart from that cant think of anything good. Unprofessional staff.
This is a budget hotel of KTDC.We were quite wary after seeing some of the reviews on Tripadvisor. We were armed with our own linen and towels... just in case. But to our surprise we were led to room no 301 which was well appointed, with clean bathroom, geyser, towels and soap. The room was comfortability air-conditioned with a large LCD TV.We stayed there during the Pooram Week when the accommodation is scarce and exorbitantly expensive.KTDC doesn't resort to surge pricing and we consider ourselves lucky to have got accommodation through Cleartrip Portal.
The check-in was smooth and the service quality was good. The restaurant menu was limited but the food and service were quite good.
Our overall experience was very good and far exceeded our expectations. Aravinds
