While searching for a place to celebrate a friend's birthday I came across Various resorts Monolith and by seeing the pictures we actually cancelled our plan for Lansdowne and went to Bhimtal.
Trust me this place is way beautiful than shown in the pictures and one could not expect more. If you enter the property you cannot go back without staying.
With beautifully designed cottages and lawns the property is situated at a perfect location.
The architecture of the property was amazing with a perfect location facing the lake. The wooden cottages with beautiful interior, amazing view and greenery all around.
The best part for us was the swimming pool which was unexpectedly well maintained in the rainy season which is also an off-season in Nainital. Our purpose was to celebrate a birthday party and they arranged everything for a pool party which went on till 1 or 2am with just the 7 of us in the resort and the staff actually waited for us patiently till we are done partying.
The food was amazing and as per our requirements (i.e. out of the menu)
They also have a bar which is not very commenly found in that area. So if u wish u can use the bar or bring your own booze. No restrictions.

The only issue I faced was the cold, the blanket provided were not warm enough when the temperature dropped at night and there were no extra blankets or quilt which are normally kept as provision in the hotel room of hill stations. I am sure they would have provided one if I had asked for it but calling the staff late night at 3am was not a good idea for me, moreover someone not from the hills do not know that the temperature there can go down suddenly.
The staff was just amazing.
This is more of a luxury resort at a reasonable price for what is offered by them. Visiting this place in monsoons was another pleasing factor which offered beautiful landscape for a nature lover like me and also the resort was available at a very discounted rate.
The place is 6-7hrs drive from Delhi with normal traffic and a perfect weekend getaway.
Would definitely visit again.

The cottages are very well made out wood, interiors is also good and kept very natural. But cottages were very damp and quite unhygienic. I had to turn on the AC for hours to clear the dampness and moisture from the room. The weather is good in October. You won't need ac or even fans. The other rooms are new and are very spacious with a private balcony but they are connected to other rooms. They have beautiful view of Bhimtal Lake better than cottages. The landscape of the resort is very beautiful. Swimming pool area has a great view of Bhimtal Lake. The pool is not very well maintained but it's only for you if you are ready to swim in 18 degree celsius because it's not heated. Restaurant is also very well made with a TT table. Food is also tasty. But complimentary breakfast menu is very limited. If you like nature and want to live in it this resort is for you with beautiful cottages lush green landscape and a pool with beautiful view.

We booked this resort as we had earlier 2-3 times stayed with v-resort and expected the same hospitality but were disappointed , we had booked 5 cottages but the hotel decided to give 5 different styles of cottages and none of them had a clear view of the lake . The rooms are done very nicely and the management is also putting some money to renovate it but still the maintenance level is not up to the mark.

The hotel restaurant is little far from the rooms and it was not convenient for us to go , we had 4 kids and request to just send something for the kids at our room for dinner but they denied .

As we were a big group, we expected good service however both the days we ordered snacks but were served cold. The pool had insects and the floor of the pool was very dirty , two of our friends got allergy from going in the pool . Water bottles /tea & coffee with biscuits were included in our package but the hotel staff did not have information of the same and clearly said no. Any way after calling vresort at Delhi we got tea/coffee without biscuits but still water bottles were supplied to few rooms. One of our friends had to actually argue for the same and the list goes on ...

I think V-resorts has started doing marketing and sales tie-up with other business owners to sell the room due to there goodwill in the market and satisfied customers but it will not work for long time as when the customers don't get the expected service and quality, they will not return like us .

Overall I will say that we will not recommend this property during rush time as we had gone during 15th Aug holidays , as the ambiance and styling of the hotel is very good one can go during non-rush periods . The hotel also has large grounds , swings etc for kids and good games at the restaurant .

They have space, location is also good and if someone just invests some time in this , they can make a huge difference in the experience of the customers .

Visited there with family in May 2016. It's a good resort with lots of greenery. Lots of places for exploring and recreation like garden, pool area, swings, common room, small watch tower and few indoor games. Lots of sitting area along cottages, poolside and in garden to enjoy lake view and nature.
We stayed there in a cottage 109. Interior is all stone and wood which give a rustic feeling. Insects were there in the room as there was gap between the doors. Curtains were not opening properly and ceiling fan was very noisy. Bathroom and laundry was clean.
Staff was very friendly and courteous. Food was not that great. Overall nice place but needs maintenance.
