Stayed for 3 nights over the New Year. Am not usually a fan of B&Bs but this is special place. Serge and Marie made us feel very welcome from arrival to departure. Breakfast was fab with home made bread, choice of eggs and a tasty continental spread. The wood fired sauna was really fab with 2 hot tubs, a pool and very cool decking area and chill out room. The pool was a cold pool which was good for a quick dip after a sauna but not for a swim. If the pool was heated and the spar open before 4pm they probably would never got shot of us. Our rooms were very clean and well maintained and the beds were comfortable. There was TV, Tea and coffee facilities and a good size wardrobe for hanging clothes. Was shared toilet and bathroom with a good shower and tastefully decorated and furnished. Their house was also tastefully furnished and you felt welcome to hang out in the open plan dinning/living room/kitchen area. Great stay and would recommend.
An amazing place to stay. It really needs a category of its own past 5 stars. The hospitality, the food, the sauna spa and pool where all spectacular and it was all pulled together by a European eye for asthetics. This one is hard to leave.
We had the ensuite cottage/bach/pixie house (!) in the garden which was secluded and cosy, very comfortable bed, quiet, and with our own garden area.
It was a short drive or easy walk to Takaka - a very relaxed, laid back arty town.
The jacuzzi, sauna and cold plunge swimming pool was a real bonus which we really enjoyed. Also loved the baby hedgehog, cats and birds that roamed around.
Breakfast was very good and extensive.
Serge and Marie - the hosts were fab, funny, interesting to talk to and very welcoming.
Its a special place we wont forget in a hurry.
We had an eight-day trip around the top of the South Island of NZ and both my partner and I voted this to be the favourite place that we stayed during our holiday.
We booked the cottage sleep-out and what a wonderful spot it is. A small but cosy and clean building in the garden with large bed, toilet and shower. Wi-fi and TV were also provided.
Serge and Marie were great - welcoming, hospitable and full of knowledge of the local area. They were very helpful with suggestions as to what to do and where to go and eat.
The spa facilities were excellent - a toasty sauna, a couple of warm spa baths, a swimming pool and a delightful "chill out" room for either pre- or post-spa use.
The communal breakfasts were delicious with a range of cereals, cooked breakfasts, cold meat, home-made bread, cheeses, etc.
As one of the cheapest places we stayed on our holiday, there's no doubt that Waitapu Springs is great value for money. Thank you very much, Serge and Marie - we had a wonderful time here and will be back!
Serge and Marie are fantasic hosts, very friendly and welcoming. The rooms and bathrooms are spotless and modern (free wifi & freeview tv in our rooms). The spa facilities were well beyond what we anticipated (indoor swimming pool, sauna & spa tub). The breakfeast options were excellent continental style (museli, cereal, fruit, cheese, sliced ham and included Serge's home made breads (perfectly made) and eggs cooked to order. This B&B is incredible value, we will be return visitors for sure. Highly recommended.
