We stayed too litte to really get to know Leanne and her family, but the little time we spent with her she was kind and welcoming. The place is very good for the price, very very easy to arrive if you are coming with a car. The parking lot is pretty spacious and it feels pretty safe and secluded. The place is right by the lake which is amazing and so isolated that the stars are just speechless. The room was tiny but had everything you needed. The beds were confortable and eventhough the weather was pretty cold, the heating worked so well I had to crack a window because it was too hot at some point. Also you get a electric blanket, which for my always-cold friend was a little piece of heaven. Basic kitchen but all you need. The only downside maybe is that the bathrooms are pretty far off and in the open, so in the cold of the night is pretty horrible to get out to the garden. Other than that, super chill and outdorsy vibe. Would definetely stay again! Loved it!! :)

Stayed in the ‘cosy cottage’ dorm room as a solo traveller. It was lovely! Great night sleep, lovely grounds and well equipped kitchen. A lot nicer than I had anticipated. Would definitely go back again.

Spent a couple of nights here in June 2019 while traveling around New Zealand with my husband and two teen daughters. This funky, retro place is a little slice of heaven!! Stayed in one of the family cabins...the room was clean and warm, the beds were super comfortable, had all the kitchen amenities we needed and the grounds are just beautiful! The owners were so sweet and very helpful! Will definitely be back on our next trip to NZ!!

We stayed for two nights either side of a trip to Milford Sound so didn't spend that much time in the room (a twin room).
The bed was very comfortable and high up, which made storage of our suitcases nice and easy.
The wifi could only be picked up in the lounge area but I didn't mind this, and the kitchen was a bit tight but we tended to eat earlier than others

Arrived after dark on a chilly night and was welcomed by a friendly and chilled atmosphere. Quirky, little homely kitchen and a warm reading room with sofas and books. Clean toilets in one end of the small park, ditto showers by the kitchen. The perfect location for exploring Doubtful Sound.
