Clean, basic, comfy rooms. The one downstairs has a CRT. Kitchen, fridge use, and water complimentary. Nice owner, very accommodating. Gave me a ride even to a shopping destination. Pat in the middle of everywhere in pondi, within stone's throw of beach and dive center. Enjoyed this little place more than many fancy hotels I've stayed at. Owner moved me to downstairs room when a bunch of party guys moved into upstairs room.. very thoughtful.

Stayed for a day as a part of a seven member group. The best part is the willingness to be hospitable of all the staff, led by Bala, the owner. Is conveniently located, 700 meters from the Promenade, while being a part of a residential area, keeping unnecessary noise away. Only disadvantage is that the staff understands very little of any language other than Tamil, so can be a task to explain anything if Bala is not around. Room decor is fairly quirky :)

We stayed here for 2 nights and can say that the rooms and common area are very clean. The bed is incredibly comfortable (you sleep really well) and the manager is very friendly and will try to solve any problem you might have as fast as he can.

We also made use of the common kitchen and it was nice to be able to make our own breakfast.

The only inconvenience we had was that the wifi did not work while we there but the owner reduced the price of the room (also we understood that the problem was going to be solved soon).

So yes, this hotel is a very nice place to stay and also the surrounding area is very quiet.

Thank you Bala for all your help,
Peter and celia

Well I had booked on the net for a Double A/c Room...but somehow within minutes of my booking i got a message that there was an error and a lady called from Expedia that my money paid towards the room would be credited back to my card.....whatever since i had a telephonic talk with the owner Mr. P Bala in Jan 16 and had saved his No. i immediately called and well he assured me that he would accomodate me anyway on the date that is 11th july 2016 to 14th july 2016. Incidently that did not happen when i reached on the scheduled date, but he was very helpful in having me accomodated in a hotel, bang opp. the Railway Station which was outright expensive for a star hotel, since i did`nt like this, the next day that is 12th july 2016,in the evening i shifted back to his hotel on the 1st floor, the Double bedroom Room was just about average in all respects, no TV, no complimentary Drinking water or Room service phone, leave alone no attendant, no reception staff whatsover, 2 single wooden cots joined together with a 6 or 4 inch matress, a towel rack stand with 2 towels hanging on it, a Mini Bathroom with a Mini Wash basin, a Instant Geyser, an xyz english commode and hah NO AIR VENTILATOR overlooking the street..but a 1 ft x4 inch rectangle slot facing the 1.5 ton AC in the room, the bathroom Tiles just waiting to fall off on you opp. shower and lo the Bathroom door made of plastic frame enclosed in a tin sheet.Open the only window under the AC unit and voila you see a scene of all kinda vehicles parked plus our mosquitos waiting to barge in for fresh blood and unhygenic smells wading in. In this snerio i cut short my visit and checked out by 11.00 AM THE NEXT DAY. the Rent for the place for the facilities in this outfit should be Rs.900/ and not what the owner insisted i pay. NOT AT ALL WORTH THE STAY HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE WORST HOTELS.

We very much enjoyed our three night stay. We had the downstairs " heart" room which was perfectly adequate for our needs. This room adjoins an entrance/ sitting area and the kitchen area beyond. We were concerned in advance that this might be a disturbance but it was no problem and indeed convenient for the kitchen, fridge etc.
The only real problem was that at street level the room was really quite noisy from passing traffic and people. Admittedly we kept the window open for ventilation but it was noisy regardless.
That said it is a well positioned and very relaxed place to stay and the owner, Bala, is a very pleasant and helpful man for whom nothing was too much trouble.
The rent is very reasonable indeed and represents very good value for money.
