We stayed at night in Green Lodge in Tarapoto, before moving to San Roque de Cumbaza. We had a perfect room - there are 4 of us and a bathroom. The room had air-conditioning which was very much needed. A very cute place to stay.

We stayed at Green Lodge whilst passing through Tarapoto. It was recommended by a friend of a friend who was unable to accommodate us at his hotel.

The lodge is pleasant inside, with a communal courtyard area where breakfast is served.

We had the room at the back which had air conditioning and was well equipped. There was hot water all day. Wifi was ok for basic things.

Breakfast was supposed to be organic but I don't think that it was! It was just a juice, eggs and bread or jam and bread. We asked for jam as well as eggs and that didn't appear to go down well!

The staff were friendly, although one morning they were being quite loud early on, moving furniture around and talking above our room. There is also music on during the day in reception. I don't think much English is spoken.

There is a tank with turtles in the courtyard. We felt very sorry for them as it is very small for the 3 of them. I hope that the management can get them a bigger accommodation or rehome them as it is not very kind.

Recommended by another traveller, we booked in here for a few nights while we visited family etc. Very ambient with a courtyard with palm trees, tables under umbrellas etc. Manager (Belin) very charming and helpful, though her English was very limited. Room quite basic, but reasonably roomy and had air con. Pity the shower water was cold. Breakfast served to table (no choice) but adequate.

The lodge is right in the town but not far from the airport. It is basic but pleasant. Wilson on the front desk was very helpful. We were a famiky of 5 so shared a big air conditioned room at the front of the hotel. Unfortunately it was right on the road so was very noisy from all the traffic.
Breakfast was included and was perfectly adequate and served in a delightfully quirky courtyard. Tarapoto is hit and humid so be prepared for that.

Room Tip: Avoid room upstairs at the front on the road as incredibly noisy due to traffic thundering by!
