Well it’s all a bit amateurish. The resort is well placed and parking is easy. The rooms are nice, with comfortable beds but no tea or coffee. The WiFi is intermittent and only works in the lounge not the bedroom. The bar seems to be run by the receptionist, however when we asked for a gin and tonic they had no ice or lemon.2 glasses of red wine for 12 euros was steep for a p/t bar when you can get a bottle for 12 euros at a nearby restaurant. Breakfast is below standard and we kept having to ask the attendant staff for things, like plates, milk etc. There seemed to be no intention of monitoring the supply and restocking without being asked. Second day’s breakfast was worse- no fruit, the hot food was not hot as the hot plate was not switched on and the hot milk they had the day before had disappeared. The toaster did not work properly. A couple asked whether they could eat outside and were handed plates and cutlery. There is a nice pool but if you want a pool towel it is 2 euros per towel and you can’t use this at the beach. This hotel has all the structural things to make it really good but is seriously let down by the management and service.
We used this hotel to get some beach time and as a base to visit the Agrigento historical sights (must see), it took us 20 minutes driving time from hotel to get to the Valley of Temples while the beach was a five minute walk but beware very long steep steps down to the beach level.
We had a superior room was was basically two large rooms, the entrance room had the fridge, cupboards and a small table which still left loads of wasted space, clean rooms and direct access to the nice swimming pool.
Breakfast was very good but we found the evening meals too expensive, best use as a treat as cost for two exceeded 100 Euro's but good quality food, there are not many other options within walking distance though, the bar service was a bit hit & miss and during the week no lunches are served.
There are signs that you cannot hang your wet towels/swimsuits etc on the balcony or outside of rooms but the option of a cloths airer being provided by request fell on deaf ears............clearly they do not have sufficient for their guests!
After visiting another local hotel and ran out of there within the hour, do to mildew and gross bathroom, we wind up going to this resort, where everything was more than we expected, friendly staff, the room that they gave us for 4 people was huge, living room, bathroom and 2 large bedrooms... we highly recommend this place!
We can’t wait to go back again
The room was very big and clean. The breakfast had more quantity than quality and juices were from boxes and served in disposable glasses. The localisation is good to visit Scala dei Turchi. There is a parking lot inside the property.
The area is sepctacular, the Scala dei Turchi are just so beautiful and we even saw them with a rainbow perfecting the picture. We did however expect more from the resort, the photos are very flattering. The rooms are however quite bare. I agree with another reviewer that maybe the original intention was for them to be appartments because there is a large living area with table when one enters but no facilities to cook or anything. The bathroom is TINY, no room to swing a cat and definitely not for two people to use at the same time and also a bit 'used'. bedroom was also very basic. The reataurant looked so impersonal that we were not tempted to use it. Breakfast was adequate, admittedly there was a lot of choice, the fruit was fresh, the juices not. Just-wedded-Luca at reception was however absolutely wonderful, he was competent and helpful, always friendly and he spoke perfect English. The best part of the hotel:)
