We spent a week on the resort and loved it. Lots of activities on site. Indoor pool with slides, sauna and steam room, outdoor heated pool and a waterslide complex. It's a struggle late in the afternoon to get a sunbed!! Mini golf, bar, restaurant, ice cream parlour, creperie van, small shop, amusements, bike hire, tennis, park and laundrette. Lots of facilities! Evening entertainment but only in French so not always able to partake.
The beach is 5 minute walk and town is approx 20mins.
We cycled to point de grave through the forest and also got the tourist train this was great but not much at point de grave except a few bars.
We stayed in a log cabin accommodation which was fine but I do think the French mobile home types of accommodation are very cramped and not much space but it was ok for one week.
I really enjoyed the site and area but would not return as I like to try different places!
Booked site through Canvas Holidays and accommodation was in their Tohapi side. French couriers were friendly at check in and out and mobile clean and well equipped although there was no grill or oven and bbqs had to take place at communal areas dotted around the site. Great beach a few hundred yards away and Soulac-sur-Mer with restaurants and bars about 20 minute walk away. Pool complex was good with indoor and outdoor pools, sauna and steam room. Bar ok but expensive. Staff were all very friendly and although not many English speakers staying there when we were there most of staff spoke English even though we tried to speak French!
We (2 adults and 3 children 7, 9 and 11) visited this campsite in June 2018 for a short break. We chose the premium spa cottage/mobile home and were not disappointed! The hot tub on the decking was a real bonus. I chose it thinking the hot tub would be useful as the weather may not be great but we were blessed with fantastic weather and still made good use of the hot tub.
The reception staff were very relaxed and check in and check out was extremely low key and simple unlike other campsites I’ve been to but perhaps it would be different in high season.
Our mobile was in a good spot beside the tennis courts and not far from the pool and shop.
The pool complex and water slides were excellent. The children loved it and as it was low season we were able to get a lounger at the poolside and keep a good watch over them when we weren’t in the water. There is also an indoor pool area that was as good as the outdoor. Lots of jacuzzi areas all around to sit and relax. Also on arrival you are given an armband for complimentary use of the sauna, steam room and gym and a pass card for mini golf, tennis etc.
We are in the restaurant on our 1st night and the food was good, but chose to take away the following night, which was better and we ate in town also.
The town was beautiful, so picturesque! On the Sunday we walked up the beach to the town Soulac-Sur-Mer and landed in the middle of a bikers/Harley Davidson meeting/convention. The atmosphere was electric and the town was packed, we enjoyed an ice cream and went to visit the famous basilica La Notre Dame de la fin des terre, which was lovely to see.
The shop supplied fresh croissants, pain au chocolat, pain au raisins etc in the mornings and they were all beautifully fresh and tasty. Again I don’t know how all this would be in high season but while we were there.... perfect! Also there is a Lidl 3 mins drive away with a fantastic supply of baked goods.
We loved this campsite and although I don’t like going back to the same place I would strongly consider returning!
