Before our arrival at prive suites we read several of bad reviews.Nothing is true.
We are really full in love with this family and their dog "zizou". The owners are really lovely, smilling and always willing to serve us.
Prive suites is not 4 or 5 * hotel, it's just a simple and economical property , that offers you what you need ( comfortable bed, shower in the room, small kitchenette facilities , air condition , TV that we never used).
Is located in the best area of perissa as well. Just 5 minutes walking distance from the beach, restaurants , beach bars, bus station , mini market e.t.c.
We'll come back for sure.
we have travelled to lots of Greek islands and Santorini is a favourite. However this is the worst accommodation so far.
Our room was located at the bottom of a busy stairwell with the hotels linen cupboard and cleaners sore right outside our door. Everyonr using the stairs walked through our patio area so we had no privacy or peace to enjoy food or drinks.
The rep was less than useless and was no help. Although we had a fridge it was made so much noise i had trouble sleeping coz it was in our bedroom.
The first day the pool was a beautiful blue but as some of the holiday makers allowed their small children in the pool without nappies it soon turned bright green and for the rest of the holiday I referred to it as the pond!!!!!
Rep didn't mention at the welcome meeting that the coach waited outside a local pub and she couldn't be bothered to walk 100 yards to get us so we (and another couple who were staying in a equally not fit for purpose room) missed our coach back to the airport and had to pay for a taxi. When my husband rang to complain he was told the rep hadn't seen us all holiday, even though I'd had a lengthy conversation about needing a hair dryer and another day about our trip to Oia. Isn't that what pen and paper is for, leaving a note under the door.
We won't travel with Olympic holidays again, that's a given.
We had a simple first floor basic studio room. It was cleaned daily and the towels were changed daily. The sheets were changed two to three times a week. The we managed to get our clothes into the wardrobe with three drawers at the bottom. One chair and small coffee table along with two comfortable single beds were in the room. There was no shelving in the bathroom for toiletries etc. The water from the shower was always hot.The was a small worktop area next to the sink which was used to store items and as a worktop. There is a full size fridge, two ring hob and a small tv which we did not use. Air conditioning is available which was charged at 8€ per day, we needed it for our last few days.On our balcony area is a small table and two chairs. To summarise the room was basic and clean and met our needs and we were happy with what we got for the price we paid. The owners were on site daily and were friendly and obliging. Prive Suites are in a good position and only minutes from the sea and all amenities. There is a good Greek restaurant next next door. We occupied room 10 which we were satisfied with. I recommend that you bring a small electric kettle if you want a quick hot drink.
Prive suites is the perfect reminder that you're in Santorini. Very traditional and laid back welcoming vibes surrounding your every direction. The staff were amazing and very accommodating. Always more than happy to help you anyway that you may require or simply even enjoy a drink with you by the pool while swapping a few stories. I highly recommend staying there if you want excellent value for money with a true understanding of what Perissa Santorini, Greek islands is all about.
Grazie mille Spiros Sotas
Booked a 7 day break in the resort of Perissa, 11th to 18th August, staying at Prive Suites, also known as Athanasia. This was booked through Olympic Holidays.
On arrival in resort we were dropped on the main road near to the road leading to the accommodation. We had to wheel/carry our luggage about 200 metres down a very uneven road.
On arrival we were checked in, bit of a labourious process, we were then shown to our room, on initial impressions all appeared to be in good order. The bed was comfortable, the bedding and towels were clean.
On closer inspection, the furniture and fittings were well past their sell by date and well worn. There was one low energy light bulb in the bathroom which was over the mirror/washbasin, it did not adequately light up the room. There was black mould around the sealant at the base of the toilet. The drain in the middle of the floor was almost blocked up with gunge, it had not been cleaned in ages.
There was a very small kitchen area, basically a sink and cupboard above and below it. Here was a 2 ring/plate cooking device, both rings were very rusted. The plates, cups and glasses had not been washed in a long time. The same was applicable to the saucepans provided. Everything needed a good was before we could use anything. There was no kettle provided so water had to be boiled in a saucepan so we could make a cuppa. There was a small fridge under the worktop the bottom of the fridge door was rusty and the freeze box bit did not work very well.
There was very little room around the pool, there were only 11 beds and the matresses were dirty and stained. There were insufficient sunbeds for the number of guests. The pool was open from 8am to 8 pm.
Having said all of the above, the accommodation did suit our needs, as we only needed a place to sleep and make a cup of tea/coffee in the morning. We did have a small balcony overlooking the pool which was ideal for having a cold beer from the fridge after a hard day on the beach. Off our balcony were steps leading to a number of rooms upstairs, other guests going up and down did not cause us too much disruption. However, under the stairs on the balcony was the cleaners store cupboard which was usual started being used at 7.30 in the morning, was noisey on occasion.
The accommodation was also close to the beach, beach front tavernas and the bars and restaurants on the main road. We were equidistant from beach and main road.
There was breakfast available in the morning in the room that doubled up as reception. It was also possible to buy beer, water and soft drinks.
We paid €10, for the 7 days, for the use of the safety deposit box and €56 for the air conditioning, €8 per night. The air conditioning was needed as the nights were very hot and muggy.
The owners and staff were friendly always said hello and good morning and waved when they saw us, their English was not very good, but a great deal better than our Greek.
We stayed for 1 week which was ok but don't think could have managed it for 2 weeks, we won't be back. If we were looking through a holiday brochure now and saw this accommodation we would quickly move to the next page. The accommodation could be good if modernised and refurbished.
Recommend bring a a torch to navigate the road to the main street as this is unlit at night.
Have attached 2 photos of the pool, look how close the beds are to the edge and the state of the mattress.
