Close to shopping, restaurants, not far from fiesta texas, Clean, updated, beautiful pool & jacuzzi area to include a nice waterfall, Good breakfast options and super clean dining area, I was quite impressed, we"d definitely stay here again! 😁
The write up says new HI but it is not new. Staff very friendly and had a few small issues that they very quickly resolved. Ice is on floors 3 & 5 Laundry on 2 & 4 (use 4 machines are newer) Fitness on 6 has no air flow - there was a shop fan (dirty filter) so air quality while working out is poor. Pool layout is very nice
We were here during a the cold snap, so weren't able to use the pool, which was one of the reasons we had chosen this hotel. It is relatively close to the River Walk, Alamo, etc., but is also near freeway, which makes it a little more noisy if you aren't used to it. The rooms were clean and the bed was super comfortable. With the cold temps, we had a hard time regulating the thermostat in our room, so it may have been preset.
I'll start with the Pros: location, lovely swimming pool, and comfortable beds (both a pro and a con).
Cons: cleanliness of floors and ottoman (Y-U-C-K wear your flip flops! - makes you wonder if the linens are really clean!) We arrived and after a few minutes of walking around and getting on the bed I looked down to realize my feet were covered with debris and excessively dirty. I improvised and cleaned the floor with a wet pool towel upon return from the swimming pool. The ottoman was so dirty I refused to allow anyone to sit on the chair or the ottoman. Young lady at the front desk, Adriana, was definitely not exhibiting adequate customer service skills - didn't greet you with a smile - wasn't happy to assist. I requested a late check out (day prior) and she asked me to return the day of check out to request it?? I initially walked away and after giving it thought on my way upstairs, I about faced and told her that I typically request at the time of check in and not the day of check out. Needless to say she was irritated. I explained that I was hoping for a late check out because I was attending a yoga class at 10 and was hoping to return and shower before heading out. She offered to extend my check out by an hour which wasn't helpful because my yoga class was an hour long and wouldn't have allowed enough time to travel back to the hotel before noon. I was gravely disappointed. I recognize this is the summer and hotel occupancy rates are up, but geez a check out at 1 is not an unreasonable request.
Decent location for our travels. We were stopping mid point from Fort Worth to South Padre. Didn't care about the River Walk or other tourist spots. No view. Just a parking lot or the back yards of homes. The pool is outside of the hotel. Outside as in you walk out of the front door, through the parking lot and into a gated pool area. We didn't swim but we thought it was an odd set up. Complimentary breakfast was decent. Get there early because people are like vultures. They grab all of the bananas like they've never had them before or that they are trying to feed a family of 15.
Decent price and decent location. Would probably not stay here again. The A/C was loud, the floors were creaky, and people would stand directly outside of the door and smoke even though it said do not stand here.
