I spent a whole week in this 50+ room hotel conveniently located on the outskirts of the city, from where it is easy to reach any place within the city by a short cab ride. The building has large glass windows that turn rooms into glass house heat and that make the use of air-conditioning an unavoidable necessity (I practically never use air-conditioning). It is also circular and oriented towards Monteria's main highway and all the rooms with view on the swimming pool are extremely noisy and I suggest to ask for rooms ending in 10 or 11 if your sleep is as light as mine. Rooms are really big. Air-conditioning systems are rather noisy (the old kind). The breakfast is a bit basic, while the staff is very helpful and really nice. There is a nice pool and a very tiny gym with only two treadmills. There are issues with the wifi, which is slow and highly unreliable. In conclusion, I highly recommend this place for its excellent quality-price ratio, with a serious caveat for its very noisy rooms and the intermittent wifi. If you are prone to experience trouble sleeping, please do consider another lodging option.
This was our second stay at Hotel Florida Sinu. We found the staff friendly. The pool was good to cool down in. Our room was good - although our patio door did not lock properly and there was a couple of inches gap between the frame and the door. The hotel is noisy due to its location on a busy street and the structure of it but with the air conditioning going it was OK. The food in the restaurant was average - nothing spectacular but filled the hole. The room was clean the bed comfortable. The bathroom is small but the room is large. It is good for a night on your way through.
We stayed one night at Hotel Florida Sinu and found it to be a nice clean business hotel with an attractive pool area. The location was good as it was easy to find being on a main street. The food in the restaurant was decent and the staff were very friendly and helpful even with our language barriers - we do not speak Spanish and they did not speak English very well. The only inconvenience could be the traffic noise from the main street and the music from the bar/restaurant which could keep you awake at night if you are a light sleeper. We were tired so we managed to fall asleep. Perfect for a night’s stay driving through.
I stayed in this hotel for a business trip. The front desk and restaurant people (by the pool) were the most unfriendly people I've ever found in a hotel. I think they don't even know how to smile. However, the room was clean and the bed was very good for rest, but the bathroom was poorly lighted. The breakfast was dry and I didn't like it.
