Stayed with family for 4 nights in motorhome. On booking asked for a quieter pitch due to family circumstances. Was advised that our pitch was away from pool and entertainment so quieter than others. This was true however what we were not told was the pitch was next to the campsite next door and was subjected to constant screams from the pool slide ( which was mètres away from us and the nightly entertainment till gone midnight. I spoke to reception next day and they kindly offered me a replacement pitch. This was much better than first and not scruffy like the first. However when you have a mororhome the move takes a a long one and eats into ur holiday. So that was a day spoilt of a four night stay. I also booked a spa treatment prior to visiting. And had day and time confirmed. I however turned up at the time and waited 30 minutes for a no show. !! I texted but received no reply. An hour later I had a reply saying thank you !! No idea what happened to my treatment or why do they didn’t show.
Entertainment is hit and miss. It’s very busy and my children only tried to book for two activities and both were too busy to accommodate them. !! The area is generally scruffy as is the beach. The campsite is fine in some areas but scruffy in others. Some of the staff are friendly some are not so.
Overall the site has some positives ( my kids liked the pool) but it was a dissapointment.

Thanks for your message that we took in consideration. As you noticed, our staff took care of your issue right away and found a solution very fast, because the satisfaction of our customers means a lot to us. However, the beach resort of Le Barcares is indeed animated in the summer. This is partly what makes the resort attractive. We do provide our own activities, so does the campsite nearby. This is usually something that our vacationers praise for. We were not aware of the incident you noticed with your reservation at the spa. It must have been a problem with our online booking system. We sincerely apologize for that. We are glad that you and your family were not disappointed by our water park though, and that you had good moments there. With its 4000 square meters and its giant slides, it is by far the largest of Le Barcares. Yours truly.

Stayed in a comfort pitch which was the worst pitch ever, ground was covered in rocks. Shower and sink was covered in black mould on the sealer. Dogs wondering around off leads which lead to piles of dog mess along paths and roads. Shame about the beautiful beach and river leading to lake as this was totally spoilt by dog mess, litter, beer cans, used nappies and cigarette ends. The cycle path is also covered in dog mess. Pool area very clean. I have visited this area and camp several times but unfortunately this was my last, as area has gone down hill

We stayed here for a week towards the end of August/ beginning of September.

My fiancé and i stayed in one of the cabins for 2-4 people. It was small but perfect for what we needed. May be a little cramped for 4 people.

Other members of our family hired a larger, 6-8 people, cabin across the other side of the park which was also perfect for them.

The campsite itself is very nice.

The on site shop has all the basics you need but does close for a few hours throughout the day. There are various supermarkets around a 5 minute drive from the site.

There is one restaurant which has a fairly limited menu but seemed very popular - the one night we considered going it was fully booked. However, it is only a 5-10 minute walk into the village which has lots of great places to eat.

The pool facilities are all really nice although limited options for food throughout the day.

The gym is quite good for a campsite, enough to get by for a week or so.

There is also the option to hire bikes, air condition units, BBQ, etc. on site.

All of the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Overall a very good holiday.

Thank you very much Jamie for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed our services and our location near the village and the beach. For your information, we have a snack-bar opened every day from lunch time to the evening, that has a counter accessible from the pool area. You can order food and drinks there. We look forward to hosting you again next time you come to visit the south of France. Yours truly.

I've traveled to French campsites with my family of 2 adults 4 kids for a few years now and this has to be the worst campsite we have ever stayed in . The campsite is split in 2 with a huge main busy road between them , all the amenities shop, pool park etc on the other side so felt I couldn't let my kids go by them selves . (Never mentioned when booking) The pitches are extremely small and covered by hard uneven stone . The toilet/shower facilities that weren't broken just weren't clean to the standard of what we were use too.
This campsite has just got far to greedy IMO it does not have enough facilities for the large numbers it's hosting . One night my boys went to play the organised Soccor tournament and we counted over 70 kids trying to play on 1 pitch .
The staff although never rude not overly friendly and always always late to the organised activities .
For the money I paid I'm extremely disappointed , and wouldn't recommend .

Dear customer, Thanks for choosing our resort for your vacation in the South of France. Perhaps there is a bit of exageration in your comment when you use the expression "worst campsite". We are the only campsite of the city to have been labelled 5 stars. If some of our pitches are covered by tiny stones, it's to avoid any flooding in case of rain. The bathroom facilities are cleaned multiple times a day by a dedicated team. And the road you mention is actually a city street, used to serve the campsites of the area. It can have some traffic in the high season indeed, but nothing close to what you describe. FYI, we are expanding the amenities and facilities every year to make them fit with the increasing popularity of the resort. Yours truly.

Stayed for 13days in June. Had a comfort pitch which was amazing. Staff extremely friendly and spoke good English. On site shop very well stocked and good prices. Pools kept very clean. Restaurant good value. Snack bar served good range of products. Didn't go to evening entertainment. Comfort pitches are on the quiet side with direct access to the beach and cycle path. Looking forward to returning in September
