We arrived at the Gold in the middle of August 2020 at a time when both Spain and the UK were experiencing travel and tourism difficulties, so after a rough journey getting there and a long wait on our transfer coach, we were so pleased to be welcomed at Gold with such a warm welcome. The lovely receptionist Luna is a credit to the hotel, as are all the staff. Everyone from the bar staff, receptionists, cleaners, lifeguards all make the effort to say hello each day and make sure you are enjoying your stay. Throughout our ten day stay, Luna checked in on us and made sure everything was ok, she recommended local restaurants and chatted to us as if we had become friends. Everything is carefully thought out at Gold, so that even the new covid rules don't feel too oppressive, as everything is designed to match their beautiful decor. The room was bright, clean and airy with great air conditioning. There are two pools, both are kept to a termperature that isn't too cold, and both have ample loungers and umbrellas. The pool bar is excellent, everything appears cooked in house and fresh, not the usual reheated rubbish. The staff at the pool bar are wonderful, Geiler (sorry if I have his name wrong!) especially makes an excellent Mojito and always makes the effort to chat to you while making your drinks. I have been coming to Gran Canaria for ten years and have never stayed anywhere with such focus on their guests, I can't ever imagine wanting to stay anywhere else when I come in future. Thank you so much to everyone at Gold for making what could have been a disaster of a holiday, the absolute best.
