Family get away night. Used a free night stay. 4th floor pool over looks Ford Stadium, the practice football facility for the Dallas Cowboys. Also on the 4th floor there is a nice workout room with free weights, machines and different variety of cardio equipment.
We had a 14th floor room overlooking the Star District and Ford Stadium. Hotel was clean. Because of the turf outdoor field for fans, the rooms facing the stadium can be a little loud at night. Overall another great stay at a Omni Hotel.
Lots of great restaurants in walking distance from hotel. Highly recommend Trophy Room for families.
And that title isn't meant in a good way unfortunately.
I stayed in one of the larger suites where you would think the amenities would be incredible. Well the view certainly was since it was a corner room. However, this is now the second time I've stayed at the Omni where their A/C was an issue. The temp kept rising in the room and wouldn't cool off no matter what we set the A/C to. Maintenance came to fix it and it seemed like it was good for a few minutes. Then the same issue again. The temps increased all night long until we finally called maintenance again in the morning to come fix it the right way. They really need to do something about their temperature controls...
We really enjoyed this Omni hotel. Located near the Star and plenty of great restaurants, the hotel is modern, clean, and easily accessible. The elevators were fast. The views are great, overlooking the Cowboys practice facility. Plenty of room outside for the kids to run around on a Cowboys football field. Exercise facilities were great. The restaurant was very good too. Plenty of good shopping within walking distance. The staff was very friendly. Justin was very helpful at the front door. So too was Angela H. S. at the front desk. Any time we had an issue they took care of it quickly. A courtesy shuttle was great and helped out with one member who had walking difficulties.
The beds were very comfortable and the rooms clean.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying there again.
The room itself was very nice and bright. We loved the view onto the field next door. After spending the previous night in a different hotel that was older and more lived in, it was a nice change to be in a bright, fresh room. However, the shower drain was clogged so that it would not drain while taking a shower. So we took showers while standing in 2 inches of water. The shower gel that was in the bottles was also out. What bothered me the most was the mirror that was next to the sink looked like someone had tweezed their eyebrows and so there was hair all over it. If you are paying more than $200 a night for a room there shouldn’t be issues like that. Had we been staying for more than a night I would have asked to move rooms.
2nd staycation at this hotel. Started a bit bumpy as when we first called before going to the hotel they said the restaurant would only be open in the evenings-upon arrival they adjusted a bit but wasn’t open for breakfast or lunch and there is no room service. Pool bar was open and served a limited menu. But surprise of surprise on day 2 there was a bottle of complimentary champagne for us in our room. Nice touch Omni staff.
So a shout out to Zahra and Cesar at the front desk and to Alex and Christopher our cabana waiters. Staff was super friendly.
Ate at the hotel Resturant. The steak we had was better done than the steak we had at Dee Lincoln and the blueberry cobbler was to die for.
Ok. Now the minor concerns in a Covid world. When housekeeping came to deliver extra pillows he was not wearing a mask. But our housekeeper did. We upgraded (had missed booked the right suite) to the Plaza level. Thinking it would be the same as the Frisco Suite but Plaza room was much smaller. Recommend the Frisco Suite (stayed in before). It would have been nice if the hotel had upgraded us complimentary given the limited services.
While the hotel encouraged guests to wear masks not everyone did and some totally disregarded getting into an elevator with others without wearing one.
Finally the pool and crowd was out of control on the 4th. It didn’t appear Omni was enforcing 50% occupancy at the pool. It was impossible to social distance it you got in the pool. Fortunately we had reserved a cabana (way overpriced bit given the scene a good choice).
Would we be back? Yes. But only in the Frisco suite and not during a holiday weekend during Covid.
