We booked three nights beginning of March ,and because of the rain the road to the lodge was so muddy that we got stucked with our jeep for one hour . finally we got out and made it to the property . We paid more then 1200 Euros for a smallest room we stayed during our whole trip in Belize . The Terrace was very nice and the the location is wonderful , but the room small , the bathroom with a small shower and a tiny sink . You have one two seater sofa and a small table in the room .during the night we were able to hear the conversation of our next cottage neibourghs. The breakfast which was included was a bit of fruit and bread with marmalade . The a la cart bf was very nice . Only one restaurant was open per night while the other was closed . Because we planed trips from the hotel we were afraid that we would have problems to come back to the hotel because of the bad road . Talking to the receptionist we got no help at all instead they came over arrogant . Finally we were able to talk to the duty manager and cancelled two nights . And verbally were told that the two nights left would be paid back .7 weeks later still no payment no answer to the emails . I would not recommend to stay there . Even the location is nice , but we found a very nice hotel the next day for half the price and more friendly service

We spent three nights at Blancaneaux lodge and cannot wait to return. We had a luxury cabana with private pool and outdoor shower which was incredible, from falling asleep listening to the howler monkeys to awaking to parrots on the patio in the mornings we absolutely loved everything about Blancaneaux.
The service is excellent and sincere ... they go above and beyond to provide personalized service calling you by name and remember your preferences.
The hike to big rock falls is incredible! The pool was closed for service so they suggested our family spend the day at Francis Ford Coppola’s private villa... seriously over the top and I’m extremely picky. To level set expectations this is the jungle so you might encounter a bug or two and there’s no air conditioning, phones or TVs in the room, exactly what we were looking for... totally off the grid in secluded luxurious accommodations with great food and wine!!

We spent the first part of our honeymoon at Blancaneaux and it was incredible. Our room - the honeymoon suite - is beautiful, the food at all restaurants was delicious, but our service is really what stood out. Never overbearing, but anticipatory and genuine. From our guides on excursions, to the waitstaff. Such a dreamy way to kick off marriage!

Stayed at La Lancha in Guatemala prior to our stay at Blancaneaux- different experiences and loved them both. Staff very personal, gracious and accommodating. Blown away by our cabin - discovered on the last day it was the Honeymoon Suite with an outdoor shower and private plunge pool overlooking the river. Garden tour and family dinner the first night was impressive and first rate. Pretty well our only interaction with other guests. 😉 Food great, delicious cocktails, coffee delivered to our room in the morning. Hiking, cycling, canoeing in caves, swimming in waterfalls, river tubing, sunrise birdwatching - an incredible unplugged and rejuvenating vacation. Lush grounds, very well maintained, gorgeous horses and stables. It was chilly when we were there in the evenings - how awesome to discover hot water bottles in our bed, Nice to return to our cabin to find candles lit and fresh flowers. 👍Highly recommended!

The property is amazing. Manicured, with a smart layout aimed at privacy, plenty of places to enjoy nature, a spa, truly excellent meals, handcrafted cocktails, and I could go on and on. But what makes this place stand out, as most reviews have said, are the people. Everyone is incredibly polite, always with a smile, and flawlessly call you by first name. Unlike most guests I was traveling alone and stayed at Blancaneaux for a full week. As a woman, solo traveling can be tricky but I always felt respected and safe while at the lodge and during all of my adventuring. Francisco spent 4 days with me, two days on horseback, a full day hiking in the jungle (10 miles), and a night hike. He was kind, made sure the adventure was trailered to my taste which was basically always moving, and he was super knowledgeable. The horses were very well cared for, forward moving, and easy without being boring. Hector lead a tour of the garden before the best vegetarian meal of my life : ) and one of my favorite parts of my stay was getting an up close look at Hectors bee hives! We geared up in full suits and I was able to see the inner workings of the hive. If you've never been safely in the middle of 150,000 bees its an intimidating but must-do activity! Eddie lead the way through Caracol which, just the drive there was an adventure, and he was also knowledgeable and patient while I explored. Jose made Barton's Creek Cave a true adventure and one I won't soon forget. All of the staff at the restaurant had impeccable manners, the concierge ladies made sure all of my trips and last minutes changes were accommodated with a smile, the room was expertly arranged each day and evening, its safe to say I don't have anything negative to say. Even after a full week at the lodge there were trips I wished I'd been able to fit in but hopefully I'll be able to come back with my husband for another visit. I appreciate all the care I received while on my trip and want to emphasize this lodge isn't just for couples : )

I did not hear of a private jacuzzi. There is bird life around the resort and my wife and a guide saw a fresh jaguar foot print on a day hike. This is a lovely resort but is far from "civilization." It is self-contained, even to having its own organic garden. All the sights are by day trips and be well advised, bring walking shoes, rain gear, insect and sun repellent, a water bottle, etc.
