Very good location. Short walk, 2 min. to the beach. Very clean. Nice pool area, and no problem getting a chair by it. Many, many restaurants close by and 2 in the hotel. The room came with a kitchenette, firm beds, drinking water available in the hall. Wi
fi was very good, could even get it in your room at times. AC worked great, and very quiet. The staff was very helpful, thank you Javier. Really get your monies worth here. Only reason I didn't give it full rating is that hot water was scarce. Other issue, and it is not the fault of the hotel, on Friday and Saturday night the bars close by are very loud with the music. Depending where your room is it may or may not be an issue.
We really don't have anything to complain about with our stay. Room (we had a kitchenette) was clean, wonderful housekeeping staff (all the staff were great). Central, safe location - we are hoping to return next year. Small issue was the water on the second floor not being as hot as we would have liked it.
Spent one night at the Mar y Sol while visiting friends in Rincon. The hotel staff was pleasant and the room we occupied was clean and comfortable with air conditioning and a TV. The room had a decent bathroom with a large shower; however, hot water was in short supply. The beds were very firm. The room also had a sundeck with a couple of chairs, The hotel has a small pool and was popular with families. The pool lounge area was relatively small. The beach was a very short walk from the hotel and we enjoyed walking on the beach and had a few drinks at the local beach bars. We would return to the hotel for a short stay.
If you are looking for a clean, friendly hotel within minutes of an amazing beach this is it. They have kitchenettes in this hotel, a great small pool and a small playground for kids. We've stayed there 3 times now and it keeps getting better and better. You can cook a simple meal in your room or head out to many local Mexican restaurants. This is for the traveller that wants an authentic Mexican trip but is safe and clean and has enough travellers in town to ensure you get what you need.
Our single room was barren, depressing and the worst we experienced. The hotel is right behind the Cabanas del Capitan which was tremendous in comparison. The area to sit around the pool is very limited and the pool isn't heated. Wifi only worked in the lobby.
