We have just returned from our second stay at this lovely hotel, and once again it did not disappoint.
Great Covid measures in place making you feel very safe, but the best thing of all (apart from the outstanding views!), are the staff - everyone we came across was wonderful and worked tremendously hard to ensure great customer service.
Dined twice in the restaurants - we were moved on one night into the function room, which is doubling as a restaurant at the moment, so the staff are managing about 4 areas of the hotel where people are eating and they are coping so well with it all. Our food was great, portions were a bit too much for us, but that's a personal thing.
Room was lovely - overlooking the sea - cannot go wrong.
Hope to make a 3rd visit one day!

My husband and I enjoyed a three night stay at the beginning of September. We were fortunate to enjoy beautiful weather which shows off the hotel at its best. The views from the terrace and restaurant are to die for. The staff were unfailingly helpful and friendly. Our room was "inland view", clean, attractive and comfortable. We were repeatedly struck at how much effort had gone into implementing covid regulations and guidelines while still giving guests a memorable experience. Clearly locals already know what a treasure it is as there were plenty of visitors in the restaurant and terrace every day we were there. Menus offered a varied choice for both breakfasts and evening meals. All food freshly prepared and so we made the most of opportunity to sample local fresh fish dishes although other choices were available and delicious too. Would return in a heartbeat.

We have recently returned from the Berry Head and staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful. Yes some things were different but nothing that caused any issues. At front reception we were told in the COVID 19 measures and the effect in room servicing etc and to be honest I hope the new way stays and cuts wastage with washing etc. The gardens and grounds are stunning as are the views over the bay and walks along the coast path. The rooms were well appointed with modern but guests should remember this is a listed building so it has lots of character too. You are away from the hustle of Brixham harbour but a few minutes walk to the town centre and get free car parking which is a big advantage in Torbay. We ate in restaurant one night which was exceptional value for the quality £35 for a 3 course meal and the food was excellent. We didn’t get time to use the swimming pool but it was offered and you can book slots so ensure sole use during COVID.

We will definitely be back and look forward to seeing the apartments opening later in the year.

Thank you Berry Head team 😀🤩

We stayed at the Berry Head hotel for our 1st wedding anniversary and booked the sea view room. The view was amazing, and definitely the highlight of the room. However, the decor of the room and hotel was very worn, and could definitely use some work. Our white sheets had 2 very obvious orange/brown stains on them, and the matress was sunken. The room overall was pleasant, but not quite the 4* experience.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. We booked a slot to use the swimming pool, which we had to ourselves. The bar staff were able to offer me an ice bucket and fresh milk for our room on request.

We had booked a table at the Bonaparte restaurant on site to celebrate our anniversary. When we arrived for dinner, we were led to a table at the bar, closest to the bar/door, furthest from the view, which was quite noisy. I informed the waitress that I had booked a table at the Bonaparte restaurant, however she said they were overbooked and that I should have known that they cannot guarantee a table in the restaurant when I booked (despite my email confirmation a week prior of my table booking). She did allow us to order from the Bonaparte restaurant menu, but it would have been nice to have been given priority for our table at the restaurant given our celebration and that we were staying overnight in the hotel. Once the waitress took our food order, we were told there would be a 50 minute wait for food. It would have been helpful if we were told about this before we ordered our food. Fortunately, our food arrived in 30 mins and the portions were generous.

We had a pleasant sleep overnight and enjoyed the breakfast in the morning.

I am very sorry that your table was not where requested. Due to the Covid problems we have had to spread our tables throughout the building due to reduced capacity in each area. We have also been very busy and the advisory on a potential delay is always stated in order that people are aware that there may be one. Very often, as it was for yourselves, that delay does not in fact arise. I hope you may visit us again when more normality returns and times are less trying for us all.
