Although it was fortunate to even find an available Campground on the weekend of the Stugis Motorcycle Rally, we soon regretted it. The number of motorcyclists was staggering! There was the near-constant rumbling of them.
The Park itself, was no picnic either. Kind of expensive for what they offered. The pool was open but, ice cold and unclean. Dirty bandaid left on the decks and bottom unvaccuumed. The free shower would not get warm.
The staff was overworked by this big weekend. However, if you're gonna charge so much then, have the services done right.
I would not stay here again.
We’ve camped here several times in the last few years the owners are very friendly and helpful and the kids enjoy the pool on hot days. It’s also only minutes from rapid city and lots of other great tourist destinations in the area.
Tight camp sites. Liked the little covered area for each camper. Clean. But they advertise heated pool on their website and that is not true. Pool, but far from heated! And not just broken, never been heated so that was disappointing. Only one big hill to navigate and very convenient to everything.
We met up here for an RV club stay. Sites are VERY tight. Grass not mowed (was almost 1 foot high). NO SECURITY. We have always been given a sign for the vehicle, but not here. Anyone could come and go. Covered picnic tables shared between every 2 sites, which would be ok, but the sites are so tight we couldn't put out awning out. Oh, and saw a 5th wheel hit a big tree limb and damage his roof. Site guide didn't even guide him in properly! Pool was never open June 9th-June 15th. No change machine in laundry room.
Arrived just at closing time for the office, but they took their time to get me checked in, showed me to the site and got me parked just fine. I agree that the sites are a bit tight, but I had no problems getting my 35 foot RV into the spot. Loved the covered picnic tables, especially since it rained a couple times. The WiFi was a little spotty, but it served the purpose of checking email and doing some light web surfing. They have a pool, playground and basketball area that were well cared for, though I didn't use them as we were too busy seeing the sights in the area. I agree that the bathrooms could use a little TLC, but they were clean. They seemed to clean around 7 a.m. which is inconvenient as everyone is trying to get ready for the day so I wish they would change the cleaning time to a bit later in the day. The also have a game room (coin operated) that is open until 10 p.m. It was nice to finally find an RV Park that allowed wood fires and had a nice fire pit at the site. Very convenient location to set up as a base of operation in the Black Hills area to see the sights. They are located just across the street from the Reptile Gardens and real close to several other sites (within a mile or so). So a very good location for the park. I would come back to stay here again if my travels ever bring me back this way again.
