We prepaid for our room on June 27th, 2020. Arrived on July 3rd, 2020. We wanted to see the Yorktown and this was a relatively cheap and close hotel. So we walk up to the window and tell the lady our info. She argues with us because the reservation was in my name but was paid for with the Boyfriends Credit Card. She said that that was not allowed and she would have to cancel that reservation. So i explain to her that the room is already paid for and we cannot cancel because we would lose the money we prepaid.. So she goes to her computer and looks then comes back going on about a $50 deposit that we would have to give. So we told her again the room was already paid for and i showed her my email saying that. so the boss (i guess thats who she was) stepped in and told her to give us our room keys cause the room was paid for and nothing else was needed. The woman was very rude about it all and did not even attempt an apology about it.
The room itself was nice and big. A/C was awesome! The other staff we came in contact with were all nice. The breakfast was a grab and go because of the covid restrictions which was totally understood. If we did not have to deal with that lady at first then I would have given more stars. But that lady ruined it.

I booked this through a website not directly through the hotel so I couldn’t get my money back but I wanted to warn others not to book here. They say they are “under construction” but i didn’t think they would put me in a room that the stuff was torn down. You can hear everything from the outside. If it’s the last place on earth to stay I would still sleep outside. No sense in complaining to the front desk because I was stuck paying for it.

I ended up having to stay in Charleston unexpectedly. Just needed somewhere to sleep as I had to be back at the hospital very early. Doors are exterior which did not show on the website, When I got to my room, the doors did not have any type of safety locks. I did not feel safe and left the premise.

But still a $45 hotel anywhere else..kind of dumpy. Hamton Inn is next door for another $60 a night..My room was livable for a couple nights. Was on the lower side of 2 stars..but location seemed good and safe.

We booked a night in this hotel for the bridge run and was very disappointed in the condition of our room. Before we checked in, we were told we were upgraded to a double queen bed room. I didn’t ask for or needed two queen beds since it’s just me and my wife but that’s not a big deal. The problem is the “upgraded room” is in sad shape. You can tell they’ve renovated it recently but the work performed is substandard.

First and foremost is the front door. For safety, there is no safety latch inside. They forgot to reinstall it. Second, there are gaps around the door where you can see outside, especially on the bottom of the door.

The main problem was in the bathroom. The bathtub was dirty. The new tile had grout missing in several areas. The ceiling had holes around the vent/fan and smoke detector. Moldings were unattached. Mold around the tub corners. Hole in the wall next to the toilet. Pictures are attached.

Next is the paint job. It looks like a three year old did the painting. It’s noticeable around the entrance door on the inside.

Then there’s the carpet. It’s not trimmed properly. It’s rolled up the sides of the wall and missing trim.

There are no coat hangers, no iron/ironing board, and no blow drier.
