I am torn because I love how convenient the location is at this hotel. I would give that five 'stars' to how easy it is to get dressed and walk down the stairs to the beach or the pool. I also liked sitting on our balcony at night and watching the sunset and seeing the lightning out on the sea. However our room was the width of our king sized bed. It was more updated than the Sandy Shores Hotel down the street, but it could use work (for example the walls having scuffs all over, and the screen sliding door to our room not being able to close completely.) The bed was a little hard. The maintenance man was kind to get the microwave for us and to put WD-40 on the glass sliding door to get rid of the squeaks. We only asked because we have a toddler that we didnt want to wake up when we came back into the room. We appreciated that. All of the other people working the front desk and cleaning the pools and vacuuming seemed to be in their teens. There was no phone in the room, so I guess you can't call for room service or questions. Clearly they dont need to update this place because it's pretty expensive and its booked all season. I would stay here again though because it met our needs and it's a nice beach vacation spot with some great spots to eat nearby (Mattunuck Oyster Restaurant, Watch Dog Cafe, Misquamicut Sandwich Company etc...)
I loved everything about the Pleasant View Inn. Great staff, food, room. Beautiful pool. The beach...what can I say...I love the ocean and oh the WAVES cannot be beat!! This is a premier location for the beautiful state of RI.
I cant express enough what an amazing time my family had on vacation at this hotel! From the start we were greeted by a wonderful front desk staff! They gave us a complimentary signature cocktail (tropical and delicious) like they do on a cruise or somewhere in the Caribbean! Our rooms were clean and had a beautiful view of the ocean! The pool was crystal clear and they have their own private beach! We dined outside right on the ocean! We met the manager Joe who was friendly and very accommodating! My family and I will definitely be back! Thanks Joe and staff for a great vacation
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Pleasant View Inn. I took my 13 year old Son with me. I am a Executive Chef and don't get much time off. The resort was amazing. During these crazy times with COVID 19, I was nervous about going anywhere. Pleasant View Inn was extremely clean. All of the staff could be seen wearing masks. Everyone was practicing social distancing. I was actually able to relax and get all of the craziness off my mind for the three days we were there. We had a terrific room with a King sized bed and a balcony right on the ocean. It was truly breathtaking watching both the sunrise and sunset there. We had plenty of room on the private beach they provide with a lifeguard on duty. We brought our boogie boards and had a blast in the big waves. We ate most of our meals there and they were incredible. The service was great, and the Chef really made some terrific food. Being a Executive Chef I tend to be a bit picky but I was very happy with all my food. My Son absolutely loved his food too. We were lucky enough to meet some other great people and they had a kid my Son's age. They played for hours in the heated outdoor pool. It was very well maintained and there was hardly anyone else in the pool. I was given two free drink tickets with my keys when I checked in. I just want to mention that these drinks were so delicious. They were something I won't soon forget. The bartender's and the wait staff were extremely friendly and professional. This place is somewhere I plan on going every year. My Son said to me our second day there that this vacation was his favorite ever. The room, the balcony and the view, the restaurant, the property, the staff everything about Pleasant View Inn is Awesome. I can't wait until next year and my next vacation there.
We stayed her based on many recommendations of friends. However we had an awful experience. We only stayed two nights and our first morning we were awakened at 7:30am to a fight in the room next door. After an hour we finally called the front desk at 8:38 to report it. Being in a room with my 3 kids I didn’t want them leaving the room until the police were out of the hallway which was closer to 10:00. Once we were finally able to get started with our day although we had been up for hours hearing the fight, we find the pool closed. I went to the desk and they offered me a $50 credit and assured me the pool would be open within the hour. By the afternoon I thought more about it and went back to the desk to talk about being woken up on our vacation and I was told a supervisor would talk to me when she got in and that the pool
Would open within 30 min. Now it is my second morning, I have not heard from a supervisor and the pool is still closed. I went back to the desk again and was told that I need to speak to the supervisor but she isn’t in until 2. Checkout is in the morning so I will not be here to speak to someone. The service has been less than positive here. My daughter was stung on Friday by a jellyfish so we had planned the next two days to be at the pool. Between the police involved in the public disturbance and now the lack of pool we are just leaving bc and not bothering to spend our final day here. $50 as a concession for the screaming and yelling and being awoken on my vacation with my family is unacceptable. I will not recommend to any CT friends to stay here. And as a side not in COVID times, not all employees are wearing masks as they should be and during the disturbance we were woken up to and the amount of people again not all wearing masks. Very disappointing weekend for my family.
