Gym review highlights
... a full complimentary breakfast. It consists of waffles, bagels, bread toasts, OJ and coffee. No microwave nor a fridge in the room. There is a gym in good standing. Very close to downtown and other attractions. P.S. If they hire a maintenance, landscape, cleaning team this hotel will...
... modern and comfortable. The rate was great and included a free breakfast. The hotel also has a restaurant and bar, which had good food and drinks. The gym was very nice and fully equipped. Wifi was very fast and reliable. I will for sure stay here again on my next business trip to Pittsburgh.
... a ranking it clearly does not deserve. Ours was a unit on the ground floor. While you might encounter ants in the bathroom in a beach hotel, Pittsburgh is 300 miles from the shore! The quality of the well worn bathroom towels was similar to what you might find at a low end gym. Way over-rated.

My family and I stayed at this hotel for three nights. The price was amazing even at this time of the year. There are several things that this hotel need to improve. It seems that this hotel was formerly the Crowne Plaza. The hallways and parking lot were dirty like it has not been clean in weeks. Also, the pool area needs to be refurbished. It needs landscape and new patio furniture. There are several broken chairs and patio umbrellas that are still laying around.
Don’t expect a full complimentary breakfast. It consists of waffles, bagels, bread toasts, OJ and coffee. No microwave nor a fridge in the room. There is a gym in good standing. Very close to downtown and other attractions.
P.S. If they hire a maintenance, landscape, cleaning team this hotel will drastically improve.

Response from IHGService, Guest Relations Manager at Pittsburgh Plaza Hotel
Responded 19 Nov 2018
Hi wraopera, I appreciate the time you invested to leave an informative feedback about your most recent stay with us. It is with deep concern to know that your stay was not as satisfactory as it should have been. Finding ants in your bathroom and the poor quality of the towel was a letdown. This has been discussed with the team to do the needed fix. Even though your stay was not spotless, we hope that your future trips will give us an opportunity to welcome you back to the property. Many Thanks, Ronald R. Case Manager IHGService

Affordable hotel in Greentree area of Pittsburgh. Great out door pool with lots of chaise lounges and wicker furniture. Nice updates since being a Holiday inn. Modern lobby with bar. Close to good restaurants. 24 hr gym.

My husband and I were in town for a bodybuilding competition. The host hotel for the event was sold out but this hotel luckily had a room available for a great discounted rate. It is situated a little weird in the cut but we were pleasantly surprised , although small, of how cute the room was. We were also glad to see that they had a good enough fitness center with 24 hour access. Not a lot of drawers in the room for storage but was more than adequate for the price. The only complaint is that they did not have the shuttle bus driver available for us during normal operations. It was always some issue with not having a driver. So we had to Uber/Lyft everywhere. They did offer a refund if we kept the receipt, but when I showed my receipt, they gave us a gas card instead. Luckily the gas card had a good amount of money on it. So it worked out.
