We ended up staying here because it is the only pet friendly hotel in the area. It doesn't look like much from the outside but we were surprised to find a clean and simple room. There was no breakfast and no hot water, only a luke-warm shower. It served the purpose and was a clean safe place to lay our heads for the night.

We found the room on Hotwire and it was categorized as a 2.5 star level property. And so we figured it couldn’t be THAT bad. Lesson learned, don’t go for anything lower than a 3.5 rating. We made the reservation, with TWO ADULTS being identified. No additional charges were mentioned.

Before arriving, we realized we would be getting in after midnight, so we opted to call the property to let them know. When I called, a very young child answered the phone and then a woman took the phone. Let her know we’d be arriving after midnight under the reservation name. We finally make it into Lewisberg and looking for this place and notice that the property used to be a Rodeway Inn. I then came onto Trip Advisor and started looking at reviews and photos from other reviewers. I started contemplating that sleeping in the car might be a better option. When checking in, we were told that there was an extra $10 charge for an extra person. This, in itself is a scam. When you book through any site, be it third party or direct, unless it is explicitly stated, charging for an “extra” person is their way of making an extra buck. There were two of us, as stated in the reservation made through Hotwire, not THREE.

When I got out of the car, there were two cats chasing each other on the second floor. I had to really wonder if this was more of a “long term” stay kind of place versus an actual motel. Finally got the keys and got into the room. Upside, it appeared to be clean. There was no carpet which was a better feeling. But it just had a very clunky and disorganized feel. It’s as if the “owner” went to hotel consignment store and just picked up pieces from other properties that were getting rid of their old furniture. The bathroom looked to be improved from previously posted pics. The vanity was mismatched in that the countertop did not fit on the actual counter piece. A hair styler was provided, however to plug it in, you’d have to reach behind the microwave/refrigerator stand and fumble with a clunky 4 outlet box. There was nowhere to hang clothes. Again, just a disastrous mess. Not to mention the lightbulb that was in one of the wall fixtures was just exposed.

We wanted to get to sleep, and went to turn on the tv. “No Signal” came up, then we looked behind the tv and nothing but the power cord was attached. So no cable?!? Already annoyed, decided to attempt to fall asleep. The bed was alright, but the entire night I just felt like stuff was crawling all over my skin. Tried to just ignore it. Woke up in the morning, and as I’m not a morning person, I don’t think I’ve ever gotten out of bed so quickly and gotten into the shower. The shower, as most places you stay will have corner racks to place your toiletries on, not here. The curtains they use are single sided, so you’re definitely going to have water collect on the floor outside of the tub. Got out and ready to go, packed the car and checked out.

I wouldn’t recommend this place if it was the only place in this roadside town. This land would be better served as a flat parking lot. If your budget allows you, spend the money and stay somewhere that’s not trying to scam you.

(My knowledge of Hospitality comes from over 10 years of Hospitality management and dealing with third party outlets like Hotwire, Priceline, or Hotels.com)

Was an excellent value. Staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Perfect for an overnight stay. Give this place a chance, you can't beat the comfort level for the price. It's only 8 miles from the main highway. Definitely worth driving a couple extra miles.

I stayed in a second-floor king and had the best night’s sleep I’ve had in years. I landed here after a last-minute (no credit card confirmation) online reservation at All Suites Inn Budget Host didn’t work (they were booked). This property is right next door; in fact, I had initially pulled in at the Rodeway and was relieved to realize I was at the wrong place. It did appear very uninviting. But when (at 11:00 at night) the lady at the All Suites said I would have my choice of rooms at their sister property — oh no, not the Rodeway!? — I took a look. Turns out, this family acquired the Rodeway recently and is renovating it themselves. Literally... I witnessed people (presumably family) hard at work at that hour. I was shown a room that fit my request (non-smoking queen) on the first floor, then a recently renovated, beautiful room on the first floor, then the one I ultimately decided upon (I’m very sensitive to VOCs so I turned down the one with the brand-new flooring, furniture, fabrics). I was worried about noise and security— I admit it seems ed sketchy. But the VERY dated, unromantic, unstylish, rather ugly room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. I opened the window looking out over a meadow and barely heard the highway action on the other side of the front door. I felt like a time traveler, a child again in the 70’s. I thought, “What has happened to our culture? We’re so spoiled now!” This would’ve been standard motel fare back then, and I found that guess what? It still does the job. The sheets were cheap but clean, no signs of vermin anywhere, bathroom clean, everything in working order. I never felt that I was back at the Four Seasons, the Brown Palace, or the Broadmoor, but I did feel quite comfortable and am glad I stayed here. When I arrived back home, I realized that I had left my library book behind. One phone call and a few days later, and it appeared unscathed in my mailbox. Really, I don’t see how anyone could expect more for their $65. I graduated from Bucknell decades ago, and almost feel like a spoiled brat for never having given this place a glance on any of my many visits, or when my parents visited me (it has to be the closest, except for the downtown bed and breakfasts). Then again, Rina and family weren’t running the place back then. I wish them well as they do have a huge workload ahead of them, but hopefully they will soon reap the well-deserved rewards.

Maybe we were plain lucky but our room was fine, the beds very comfortable, and the handicap bath room was about the best one I have ever seen! Well designed; much more so than in some $200.00 rooms we have had. The room was very quite, the TV was great. We would stay here again in a minute. It is not the Four Seasons, but even without having breakfast, we felt we got a great bargain.
