We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Barossa Vineyard Cottages for three nights and could not have been happier with our accommodation, making our stay very relaxing and enjoyable. Four of us were travelling together and I was in charge of booking our accommodation. Not having stayed before I was a little nervous with anticipation as to what we would see when we arrived. I booked two cottages side by side, the Bethanie & Krondorf and I am pleased to say that what you view on the web site is exactly how well presented, comfortable and inviting the accommodation and property is.
From the time we were greeted by Sandra we knew we were going to be in good hands, especially when we saw her walk through the garden with warm bread she had just baked. Sandra is an amazing host, warm, hospitable and genuine, making us all feel very welcome, and offered some terrific suggestions to help us explore the beautiful region.
The delicious breakfast provisions were really generous and more than we could use, being a great way to showcase some of the Barossa’s best fresh local produce.
The cosy living space and well-proportioned bedroom and bathroom allows you to enjoy all the comforts of home, with the beautiful surrounds both inside and out, giving an immediate sense of tranquillity and relaxation. The location is perfect, far enough away to allow for peaceful sleeps, and close enough that you can be at amazing cellar doors and the centre of town in minutes.
On this trip we stayed for three nights, any less and you will be kicking yourselves for not booking longer. We know we will be back to visit Sandra again, only next time we definitely plan to linger a little longer. (Linda W)
Driving up the driveway you wonder where you are going and if you have made a mistake! Once you turn at the end of the driveway a vision appears and you immediately start to relax. Sandra was waiting next to unit 4 with a big smile and warm welcome. Walking into your unit you quickly realise that you are in for a treat.
Well appointed kitchen stocked with all the necessities. Small dining table and comfortable longe area filled be a big bedroom and bathroom with a large spa and seperate shower.
The decor is great and you feel relaxed and comfortable. Being located so far from the road you enjoy the sounds of birds flying past instead of cars.
The nights Sleep was great in a comfortable bed with no noises to wake you up before you are ready.
Thoroughly recommend the Barossa vineyard cottages for a couple to get away.
As we came up the driveway we were filled with wonder, not know what to expect. as We veered around the driveway we were filled with joy to see a row of stunning cottages perched on the hill.
We parked our car in the garage next to our cottage, jumped out of the car in anticipation. As we opened the door i was amazed at the size of the cottage.
LOUNGE ROOM WITH FIREPLACE!
MASSIVE BATHROOM WITH SPA!
KING BED WITH FRENCH DOORS OPENING UP TO THE VINEYARDS!
If this wasn't enough there was a wafting smell of fresh bread in the air, i walked back to the kitchen to find a fresh home made loaf of bread, waiting for my consumption. I proceeded to open the fridge and to finish it off there was beautiful locally sourced bacon, mushroom and tomato.
All in all a fantastic visit from start to finish, service second to none.
I would highly recommend staying here not one bad thing to say we are planning our next trip back.
We stayed in the first cottage as you travel up the driveway. I don't know of all the cottages are the same or not. I believe there are four in total. The cottage consisted or a modern, fully functioning kitchen, a small dining area with table and chairs, a living area with lounge, television, study desk and fire place. There was a bedroom which opened up onto a verandah with a small outdoor setting. The bathroom was spacious and contained a large jet spa bath. The cottages are only ten years old and are still nice and modern and beautifully presented and maintained. There was also a cabana and bbq.
Service was excellent. The fire place was set up for us everyday so we just had to strike a match to get it going. Breakfast was delicious with it being stocked up everyday consisting of fresh bacon, sausages, eggs, juice, milk, tomatoes, mushrooms and fresh loaf of bread baked every day. A Nespresso coffee machine was also in the room. There was also the choice of three cereals.
I would certainly recommend the stay.
After researching various options for the Barossa, we decided to book here based on the many reviews we had read. High expectations can sometimes be dangerous! We arrived in the Barossa Valley pretty early after flying into Adelaide on the first flight and driving around quickly realised how many lovely accommodation options there were. We drive past the cottages during the morning - and wondered if we had made the right choice ... a little bit out of town etc, however once we checked in a s walked into our room all those questions disappeared.
The cottages are beautifully decorated. The quality of furnishings is high, and like so many others have said, the spa and pot belly fire are wonderful.
When we walked in, the fridge was fully stocked for our breakfasts over the three days. The yoghurts and cereals were standard, however it was the local bacon, duck and veal sausages, farm fresh eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes and
Fresh homemade bread which took food up a notch! This was supported by our evening nibblies, local pate, biscuits and a bottle of red from the owner's vineyard.
As others have mentioned - the location is great - a handy jumping off point for touring the Barossa. Sandra is very warm and welcoming, the surroundings are great (although I'll confess to not having a drink or meal under the rotunda!) and you have absolutely everything you need for a great holiday.
Can't recommend Barossa Vineyard Cottages highly enough
