We stayed here in mid February for just one night. Considering fact, that this is Ethiopia, this hotel is very good. The location is good, nearby area safe. Quality of sleep very good. Rooms are very clean which we appreciated the most. Bed sheets, towels, blankets – all perfectly clean and new. The bathroom was also clean, not a luxury one, but nice. Definitely this was the best hotel – outside of Addis, that we visited in Ethiopia. The room is nicely furnished, has a TV and fridge with minibar. Everything was functioning. Although, the breakfast was too basic. This hotel does not have any view over the lake Tania, but as we spent the whole day on the lake, we did not miss it at all. Hotel Delano is a very good choice to stay in while in Bahir Dar. Recommended.
We stayed here in a group of 17 people. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed the coffee ceremony that was held for us in the lobby. Our rooms were clean and comfortable although the lighting was quite poor in my opinion. The shower was good with plenty of hot water and they had a hair dryer in the room which was not the norm during our time in Ethiopia. I also had a pretty good wifi connection in our room which was nice. One thing to mention is that the elevator doors close very fast and they close whether there is a person in the way or not. We just stayed one night and got caught in the doors a couple of times! The biggest disappointment for us during our stay was the food and the dinner "guest". We had the dinner and breakfast buffets and both had limited selections with food that was barely luke warm and when items ran out, they were not quickly replaced. We also had a cockroach running around our dining table during dinner. I know this is Ethiopia, but I found this to be a turn off. I think it's a good place to stay, but I would highly suggest finding a restaurant off site for your meals.
I stayed here for 10 days, and I enjoyed the facilities of the hotel a great deal. The room was very comfortable, the staff were professional and helpful. The airport transfer was smooth and hassle free. The breakfast was good. The only negative I can mention is my first meal there was beef and rice and the meat was so chewy it was inedible ... but honestly as I reminisce on my stay this is to nitpick, I switched to the Chicken after that experience and things were fine. I take good memories from this world class hotel. Very comfortable, very clean. A superb experience.
This hôtel has everything one could ask for, and at a reasonable price. Met at airport by driver, vehicle and, as I had asked, their preferred tourist guide. He is called Gech Sahlu, and he arranged everything we asked for over the next 48 hours- boat to a dawn Church service on 'The Peninsular'; a local guide on the Zege Peninsular; hippos in the outlet from Lake Tana of the river Blue Nile; car and safe driver to take us on to Gondar.
Exceptional helpful, English speaking man at reception.
Ate in our room, at same price as the hôtel restau'.
This hotel has a great location, although not on the water, a wonderful staff and good sized and comfortable rooms. There is a refrigerator and a wardrobe for clothes as well as a closed shower. The kitchen staff was most kind to make food for us as we are vegetarian. They made delicious salads and vegetable stir-frys. For breakfast there was a buffet and someone who could make eggs to order. There was also air conditioning in the room. And, it was quiet during the night.
