We booked 3 cabins at the Lodge for my husbands 40th birthday (Labor day weekend). There were 12 adults and many kids and we had a fabulous time! The grounds are gorgeous, the pool is warm and crystal clear and the kids could run and play safely all day. They are have a great play area for kids: two play structures, tether ball, a sand box and bocce ball. They also had a very nice game room. Our cabins were rustic but VERY comfortable. We were so happy there all weekend and wish we could have stayed longer. We cannot wait to go back again and hopefully spend more time there! And a special shout out to Phil, who made our stay extra special by being available for any questions or things we needed and her very warm hospitality.
We spent 3 days in the Pinon cabin. Nice rustic cabin and a beautiful location. The property is literally at the end of the road and at the base of some majestic mountains- the Brazos peaks. We enjoyed swimming in the heated pool, hiking on their private property, playing in the game room, fishing in the stocked pond, and just hanging out enjoying the peace and quiet. It isn't a fancy resort but we liked it just the way it was. Lots of activities in the nearby areas. We have already talked about coming back again some time!
Corkin's Lodge is at the end of the road in Brazos, NM and at the foot of the Brazos Cliffs. There is a lodge, but they also have individual cabins of different sizes. And we loved our cabin! Log of course, covered porch, beautiful main room with fireplace, couch, rocking chair, and kitchen and table, big comfortble bedroom, and big, modern bathroon. Hiking trails out the front door, along with ground squirrels and deer. Very comfortable stay of two nights- could have been longer.
This place was the absolute best ever. Great little cabin with a full kitchen, full bathroom, living room with fireplace (which we used). Grounds were gorgeous. There was a game room where we played ping pong. There was also a place to play horseshoes, bocce ball, swings, a pool (closed for the winter).
We rented the Log Cabin with a group of 11, including 6 kids for 4 nights. We had visited this resort 7-8 years ago and wanted to return for the wildlife and nature. The cabin is roomy and beautifully designed, but had a bad problem with mice. We complained, and they left 2 mouse traps on our picnic table. We caught 4 mice in the kitchen over the next three nights. Mouse droppings were found each morning in the kitchen. Also, they did not seem to keep up with basic amenities, such as no hair drier and no clocks in the bedrooms. Only one bar of soap in the bath. No WiFi. Their fish pond didn’t produce any fish (or bites, for that matter) for us or any other guest I talked to.
With more attention and effort from the staff, this resort could be really nice. But given the price (Log Cabin in $640/night) and problems we experienced, we won't be returning.
