Resort fees are charged in Vegas. One has a choice to pay the fee or to travel elsewhere.

Ok I would have given this place 5 stars if it were not for the Bars in the casino. Lets start with the Gaudi Bar and the Bullfighter's Bar. It's been a long time since I have run into such un friendly and I do not care attitude of the bar tenders. We asked for a glass of wine. What do you have. They said at both bars you get a choice of one cheap brand...Veedam. We finally said please give us a glass. Then they poured the wine in a beer glass and pushed it across the bar. $14. latter we could not even drink it. Really bad. Not recommended. Now that that's out of the way you have to visit the Oyster bar. Food and service was fantastic. Had a great time and we ate their twice. Gaming, lots of great variety table games especially craps was lively and fun even thou we lost. Huge variety of slots as well. Rooms, very nice large and clean. Still disagree with the $25. resort fee. It is supposed to pay for use of phone for calls (like who uses them anymore), fitness center, parking and daily newspaper (non existent). Had a nice stay other than where noted.

The Hotel rooms are clean and very basic with no character. When you check in, they will charge you $23 Resort Fee. We are all familiar with these rip off fees, but normally you will get something for the Resort Fee... For instance ....
....A safe in the room
....Water
....Coffee maker
....Room Fridge
....Casino Coupons
They have NONE of these. So one has to wonder, what does the $23 dollars include? Absolutely nothing but a gym and local phone calls.
I could not recommend Southern Station for for several reasons beside the Resort Fee Rip Off. If you do decide to book, just keep in mind that what ever rate you may have booked online, add another $23 bucks.

My husband stayed here on a business trip. Even though he did not use any of there "amenities" like the gym or spa, he was still charged $22.79 per night over and above the room rate. So, they advertise a lower rate and then stick it to you when you go to check out.
