Hotel web site states pool and hot tub but the hot tub was broken and evidently has been for a month plus. The pool was reserved on the 1st night so our kids got kicked out. Then on the last day it was reserved again. So my kids got kicked out of the pool 2 of the 3 days we were there. Horrible experience. Then there was a flea market vendor in the lobby peddling trinkets. When I stay at a hotel I want to be as stress free as possible and enjoy my get away.
While it appears from the lobby that this was once a really nice property, it definitely is not any more. The beds were ancient and hard and pokey. The "popcorn" ceiling in our room was falling down because of an apparent water leak. The carpet was so dirty that I refused to walk on it without my flipflops. Also there was no fridge or microwave although there was clearly space for them. There was no table/desk to work at either, just a high console type thing about a foot wide. I am a Diamond Rewards member and used my points for this room and I was EXTREMELY disappointed as they were in the higher tier for points cost which is outrageous for a place like this. The pool is closed and no hot breakfast - not their fault, thank you COVID19. They did at least provide a sack breakfast. Also, after charging an outrageous amount of points, they tried to charge a $25 surcharge on checking out because we used points. Oh, and no, they did not provide ANY kind of Diamond welcome amenity. Just stay away until hopefI lly they remodel and get trained in how to handle a Wyndham hotel.
Niece and nephew stayed here, parking lot recently repacked and under remodel now.
Shower drain was clogged and toilet as well. Rented an occupied room and had to request a new room so provided a room with fridge and microwave but only half painted currently.
Spoke to manager and she made concessions. Easy to work with on issues.
Once remodel done might try again if need a hotel. Reasonable rates.
Pool and breakfast buffet closed due to Covid.
I was on a hunting trip with my brother-in-law and we had unfortunately booked a room up the street at the Country Club Inn (that would be a minus 4 stars property ... avoid like the plague!). When reservations fell thru, we were able to get a couple of rooms at this location. Michelle, the night manager, was extremely helpful in getting us the rooms and although she was extremely busy, she was very upbeat and a real pleasure to work with. On subsequent nights, she was always very friendly and fun to talk with. I wish all personnel at hotels were like her!
The room itself was clean with very comfortable bedding and pillows. Very well maintained during our stay and everything worked well.
This Days Inn is quite different from others I have stayed at in its layout. A huge room with a sloping roof contains a pool, hot tub, reception desk area, comfortable lounge seating, and a small but well stocked bar/lounge. The bartender was exceptionally friendly and helpful and she knew her stock very well. Wish we could have relaxed more at the bar ... nice folks are great to be around!
The room had smoking smell and it was suppose to be non smoking room. The swimming pool indoors was very cold. The jacuzzi was not working right and was dirty and had a moldy smell, instead of a chlorine odor like most jacuzzi’s. The staff was attentive but could not fix the situations. The food was average and the parking was very good. The location was perfect for getting around Kirksville and being near everything
