We have just left Cherry Hill Park after a full month of camping with our two grandsons. We had an absolutely fabulous time, made wonderful memories and are so sorry to have to leave.
We have camped at well over 100 campground across the USA and your campground, Cherry Hill, is by far the nicest and best place we have ever stayed. From the super clean campground, lovely sites (we even had a site with trees for shade!), great amenities such as the splash pad, the beautiful double pools with landscaping to match, the cafe and general store, laundry facilities, well-cared for playgrounds with creative, safe and fun things to do for our boys, mini-golf, fishing, jogging path and water features everywhere - we could not be more satisfied. While the noise from the highways is annoying, after a while, it was just background noise and didn’t interfere with our fun.
Even with some restrictions due to precautions for Covid, all were reasonable and smart and none hampered our time at Cherry Hill.
The boys loved exploring the campground and had plentiful opportunities for them to dig in the dirt, climb and run and was just the experience we wanted for them. They loved it! We can’t wait to come back with them.
The staff was always friendly, knowledgeable and agreeable. In particular, Beatrice who helped me make our initial reservation despite not having exact dates, was super accommodating in making changes when we needed to. Beatrice was a gem and so easy and pleasant to deal with. She knows her stuff and is a credit to the business.
I was equally impressed with their organization and communication, they really have their administrative process running smoothly.
While you might have some of these at some places, you don’t find all of them anywhere. Until Cherry Hill Park. It is obvious this is a family run business that prides itself on doing things right and in the right way. The extra care and attention to detail make all the difference.
We will defiantly be back!
Very busy park. It is huge. We took the metro into DC. We ubered but there is bus service. Kids loved all the amenities. Needs another pool for the size of the park. Great laundry facility. Nice stay.
We wanted to visit the nations capital with our RV. Cherry Hill park is ;listed as the closet to the attractions. I believe it. The park has been owned by the the same family for 5 generations. Sometimes this is a bad thing as people let the place go. But not in this case. The resort is Awesome. They have everything you could want. From tours into the monuments to a city bus stop on site. They also sell the metro cards and will give you info on how to use them and how to get to where you want to go. The bathhouses are spotless and the laundry is unto date and super clean. Oh and the have 2 of them. The office/store is well stocked and they even have a good RV parts section. The park have lots of services like RV washing and maintenance to propane delivery. As it was fall when we stayed here the pool wasn't open but it looks great.
If your looking to stay in the Washington area don't hesitate to stay here. We will be back.
The bus/rail service to DC was convenient and easy. The folks at the campground were very helpful, providing a packet of helpful information on how to get to the Mall and what to see. The camp store was one of the nicest I have seen, with most everything you may have forgotten. The campground itself was clean and comfortable. Showers and bathrooms were nice, clean and convenient. The wifi was weak which is why I did not give a 5 rating. We were not able to stream a movie, but they do have cable so that helped. The road noise was significant but being city people, that was not an issue for us. The pools were beautiful, although closed for the season as we visited in mid to late October. The game room, mini-golf, splash park and café all looked very nice. I would definately reccommend this campground and would stay here again when in the area.
Trying to visit Washington DC with an RV is nearly impossible. Cherry Hill Park saved the day!
Located right on the beltway (I-495) at College Park, MD, CHP got us close enough to use the Metro system. The bus route started at the park entrance and took us to the "Metro" subway.
Even simpler, CHP offered both a day tour and a night tour negating the need and hassle of the subway. Both tours were on high-end tour buses with excellent tour guides.
The park itself was an oasis for weary travelers. Groceries, gifts, a restaurant, a free nightly tractor ride, lovely RV sites, game room, pools, playgrounds, hiking trails and more! We were blown away by the completeness of this RV park.
There are also cute cabins, tent areas and I think a small hotel.
We needed a shady lot for our RV as we have 3 cats that travel with us. CHP does not reserve sites in advance but they had a perfect spot set aside for us!
If we go back to DC we'll definitely choose Cherry Hill Park.
