This place is great! Staff running the park are friendly and helpful. Facilities here are good too, great free showers, play ground for kids, cooking facilities and a games/to room.

We started our holiday here and stayed two nights in our camper van, then came back three weeks later to stay for another three nights at the end of our trip.

The site is a two minute walk from the beach, which is great. Pitches were generous, didn't feel over-looked at all.

Recommended for any holiday makers.

Firstly, and most importantly, ignore all reviews prior to late 2015 when the new management took over. Staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming and are doing a great job getting the place back to where it should be. Facilities are modern, clean and unlike many other holiday parks, you don't have to walk half a mile for a shower. The local beach is a bit rocky and therefore not ideal for swimming. However it's a great spot for kayaking, jet skiing, fishing or a picnic in the domain. There is a swimming pool, games/tv room and play area for the kids with bikes and pedal cars for hire. Backs onto local golf course that welcomes visitors and has full facilities including pro shop and carts available. Gates are shut at night to keep any wandering hoons out and a noise curfew enforced after 10pm. This is a nice quiet little holiday park located on the southern banks of the Manukau Harbour only 40 minutes from downtown Auckland. Whether you are just passing through or chilling out for a few days it's well worth a visit.

We hired out one of the lodges for a large family group. Plenty of bedrooms. We found the double bed mattress didn’t quite fit in the bottom bunks so we rolled while we tried to sleep. View was good and the little park was good for the kids. Very short walk down to the beach.

We stayed at this campsite in January. The campsite itself has good facilities. It was clean and there was plenty of room for storing food and cooking. Showers and toilets were great and the pool looked really clean and inviting. Perfect first night stay in Auckland if you want to have a stop over before a long drive elsewhere or to explore the Manukau Heads. The greatest thing about this campsite was how thoughtful the owners were. We were caught out by a freak storm. Whilst we were huddled together in our tent wondering if we would get blown away or soaked, the owners kept checking on us and eventually we took them up on their offer of sleeping in the bunks in their back room. They couldn't have been more helpful to us and we massively appreciated their kindness as we were travelling with my 9 year old son and he was really scared! Definitely worth a visit !!! You never know when things will turn rough and having people that our kind and thoughtful makes all the difference.

Lovely view just by the beach. Amenities was clean. Didn't like the fact that there were quite a number of odd job foreign workers staying here, and were using the kitchen to cook their dinner and next few days worth of food. Had to pay to get hot water from the showers and the games room closed pretty early here, coupled with the fact that gate closes early and no cars are allowed in after 9pm, so that was essentially nothing to do late at night.

Response from coopzsuzy, Owner at Clarks Beach Holiday Park

As camp owners we focus on ensuring we maintain a safe and peaceful environment for our campers. This does mean we do close the gates at 9 pm during week days, and 10 pm on the weekends. This is in order to minimise movement of traffic while people are trying to sleep. We would add that we have extended the numbers of after hours car parks and that it is a very short walk to our facilities. In the case of motor homes, we encourage people to let us know if they are going to something late and arrange to let them in when they get back. Our large communal kitchen is available to all campers and can be busy at times. During busy periods we have developed extra facilities to meet the demand. The showers are in the process of being upgraded and in the near future we will no longer charge for our showers. The games room has a time frame to ensure the campers nearby are ensured peace and quiet, however it is often opened for special requests such as rugby games etc.
