We asked for a to for Sunday and Monday night. Walking into the room given, it's smell is offensive and looks dingy. We unloaded and allowed our kids time to eat as we did not want to sit in a restaurant. I inspected the room as I do at any motel. All surfaces were stained. ALL. The carpet had multiple stains. There was dust/grime on the fridge, tv, entertainment center, along the corners and walls of the entrance and bathroom, and on the light fixtures and switches. The main door and handle felt sticky. The bedding and towels had a fresh smell although stained. That was not an issue. The smaller of the 2 bed's mattress had a HUGE dark stain in the middle of it. This non-smoking room's nightstand had cigarette ashes left on it. The shower did not look like it gets a deep clean. I asked to be moved to a different room. The manager in charge informed us that their policy states that all issues must be brought to their attention within 1 hour to be able to change rooms. No policy was able to be shown after I asked to see one. The welcome paper in the room states that the motel would be happy to assist with any issues during our stay. The manager in charge asked the 2 cleaning ladies to check the room. They did not seem happy to do so after walking away and saying things under their breathe. I showed them the issues. The manager in charge said that she could have them clean the room, but I did not want to allow my children to lay in a mattress with questionable stains. I also did not want to have to wait for this room to be cleaned after it should have been clean in the first place. I did not pay for a dirty room to be told to wait for said room to be cleaned. I simply wanted to be moved to a new room. My mother in law's room felt cleaner, smelled better, and seemed more up to date. We left after the manager in charge said that we could talk the the manager on Monday, the next day. We found another motel for the 2 nights. On Monday, we visited the manager who apologized for the rooms uncleanliness. She agreed that it was dirty. She refunded our money for one of the nights. She said she could not do anything about the stains on the mattress, but that it was indeed sanitized with clorox spray.
