We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Each shared space had its own charm and we wanted to sit everywhere and just take it all in. We lucked out by having the mountain laurel suite. That bathroom! We enjoyed the special bathtub and just the overall space and ambience of it.
Also, having the small, but useable workout room was a bonus to me. I used it each day and this made a big difference to how we enjoyed staying here (one person being an early riser and the other not).
The location is inviting with Clayton being so walkable to several good eateries and some shopping.
All the staff was very pleasant and accommodating. For instance, I asked for plates and silverware to use with the food we brought back for dinner and that was instantly accommodated.
We appreciate a smaller inn and being made to feel special by the staff while there. The White Birch Inn was no exception.
Also, the sister property - White Birch Provisions - has some of the best coffee and baked goods. We skipped our last breakfast at the Inn to enjoy some items and specialty coffee drinks here. You do get a voucher for 15% off there and I highly recommend using it! They have lots more to buy there, too.
The only thing I'd mention, which I've found to be true at the Inns we've visited, is that the variety available for breakfast does become generic after a while. In this case, having the bakery available at White Birch Provisions be a bigger part of the breakfast offerings would really set this over the top. As is, the coffee cake we had (which is available at the bakery) was so dry and hard as to be unappealing. Breakfast and snacks are nice, but need to be special to match the level of the accommodations.
However, that is just offered as constructive feedback. The place is wonderful and a destination in and of itself.
My wife and I spent 3 nights last week in the Hemlock Suite at the White Birch Inn. What a wonderful experience! The charming inn is centrally located with excellent restaurants, a brewery, and great hiking nearby. The cozy suite had a fireplace which was definitely appreciated as the weather turned frosty on our second night.
Jenna, the General Manager, was very accommodating and Leticia, who served us a fantastic breakfast, was so friendly!
This was our second stay at the inn and we will definitely be back!
I just returned from two wonderful nights at The White Birch Inn, and I can't say enough good things about it to do it justice. I stayed in the Mountain Laurel Room and thoroughly enjoyed the fireplace on a rainy day. So relaxing and peaceful. The location is excellent for a huge variety of activities: mountains, lake, hiking, waterfalls, kayaking, restaurants, shopping. I could go on. But to the Inn: the staff is incredible! Everyone was so nice and so helpful. The afternoon wine and cheese trays individually prepared and wrapped for each room were a total delight. Turndown candies and individual ice buckets were left for each room each night. Breakfast was delicious and it was nice to order only what I wanted and not to waste food from huge breakfast servings. Coffee was delicious!! If you get the chance to stay in this lovely place do not pass it up!!
This place was amazing! It was very luxurious, but also quaint. Every detail was attended to. The staff was beyond friendly and attentive. The bedding and beds were so amazing, we did not want to leave. I recommend this highly.
Stayed overnight with my husband in the Hemlock Suite. Our room was wonderful with a king size bed and a cozy fireplace. We had a great night of sleep in the 100 percent cotton sheets. From the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out, the staff was over the top friendly and attentive. Breakfast was amazing with my eggs cooked just perfect and my husband’s quiche fluffy and delish! I would love to go back. We hiked at Tallulah Gorge on our way to the hotel. I’d highly recommend doing that if you’re looking for some exercise. The Inn is located in a perfect spot in the town. Could go on and on, but go see for yourself! You won’t regret it!!
