Kelli & Dani (bartenders) and Daniel the pool waiter we had 5 star service with them.

Front desk (handicapped) kiddo was SUPERIOR in his helpfulness and kindness when we checked in, he helped extend our stay and with new room keys and car passes - this kid made our day!!

The property was in great shape
The food was amazing
The beach was clean and had so many great ocean water sports available. The landscape was managed very well.

The quality of the room was very nice.

They moved us mid stay due to tropical storm damage 14th Sept 2020 and upgraded our room to a ocean view suite which they didn’t have to do that so they could immediately repair the property.

Excellent service and way to make our runaway from Texas to the Florida Keys Covid-19 vacation worth every penny

Thank you!
Katherine

Great location/nice property. Resort fee is waste of money. Restaurant is closed, breakfast is lame, can't walk on pier or sit on lounges on beach at night, security sends you to your room. Understand housekeeping is gone due to safety, but what am i paying $200 p/n for, use of a room? all 3 toiletries in the tiny shower were empty.
Cheeca lodge is next store for same price and is a better value. I stayed in room 123. Use of a bicycle or kayak in the broiling sun for one hour isn't worth $30. I suppose if you had kids and wanted to hang out in the pool you would like it more.

StephenRMorse, thank you kindly for your observations and comments. We are disappointing to hear that the bath amenities were not available to you in your room. I will use the critique to improve the training of the housekeeping staff and improve the service offerings. Due to COVID we have reduced the exposure of our staff in guest rooms to cleaning every third day. We feel this is a proper direction for the safety of our valued guests and our associates at the Islander during the pandemic. Our Tides restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfast selection is limited again due to COVID however we are using your comments to produce a revitalization of that menu. Again, we appreciate your comments and we hope you have an opportunity to visit us again and see how we have improved.

Ever since the first time I drove by the iconic sign, I have wanted to stay at The Islander resort. I was not disappointed! This resort is gorgeous! Lush landscaping makes you think you're on your own private island. The private beach is nice and clean and quiet. The pool is beautiful and there are just enough trees to give a little shade but still let through that warm Florida sun. We visited during the global covid pandemic and the Islander gets an A+ for their health and safety precautions. There were signs everywhere with the rules of the resort and health tips to stay safe. The staff was very friendly and everyone wore masks. Those handling food or pool towels wore gloves. Their restaurant was closed but the food we got at the pool bar was delicious! We parked right in front of our room which is always a bonus for me. Our room was incredible! It was so clean and smelled so good. The bed was very comfortable. Lots of storage room for your luggage. There was a small table and 2 chairs inside that was big enough to eat at comfortably but far enough away from the bed so we didn't bump into it. Nice, big, clear picture TV. Enough room in the bathroom for one person to move around comfortably. Our own private, screened in patio just topped it off! Nice size table with 4 chairs and a ceiling fan with a breathtaking view of the tropical landscaping you can find all over the resort. We can't wait to go back. The Islander is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at. We got a great rate for the time of year we went and it was totally worth the money. We're already planning our next trip!

Took my son for his birthday to this resort for 2 day get away. It was such an amazing time! The resort is gorgeous. For covid everyone wore masks and social distanced. My room was set up so nice and clean. The pools were so clean and refreshing. I loved that we got an hr free of riding bikes. I have recommended many people to go there and I will definitely be back for sure! I loved it so much and my son had a great birthday experience!

I do not think the dog is allowed on the pool deck, but the beach area is ok. I am not sure about boat rentals, it is a seperate company from the Hotel that runs the rentals. As for the hotel, you must have your dog leashed at all times and pick up after them. They have a list of rules if you call, the front desk is super helpful and can guide you. It is a very laid back place and everyone is respectful of each other, so as long as you do the same, it is a terrific spot to go with your dog.

Are the pools heated?
Answer from michaelvila

we stayed at an "Ocean View" Suite. It was nothing more than a room with sliding doors (That didn't open more than a few inches and NO BALCONY). However, it did have a nice ocean view. I suggest calling and confirming that you are staying in a room that HAS A BALCONY. AND THAT THE BALCONY IT OVER LOOKING THE BEACH.AND THAT THE BALCONY IS SOMETHING THAT YOU CAN WALK ONTO AND SIT IN A CHAIR THAT IS OUTSIDE OF THE ROOM, UM, ON THE BALCONY. Make it clear that is what you want. This slippery working is very deceiving. The "OCEAN VIEW SUITES" are ratty old rooms that feel and smell like they've been there for 50 years. That building has an elevator that smells like pesticides and is between two beautiful building that have clearly been built in the last decade or two. Those are the buildings you want to stay in. BOTH of those buildings have balconies.
