Hey there! Food and beverage that is consumed in the cafe/pool area must be served by the Island House, from an Island House employee. But if you would like to eat or drink in the comfort of your own room, you are more than welcome to do so :-)

Thank you for your inquiry and we appreciate that you have taken the time to contact us. The smoking policy has undergone recent changes thanks to people such as yourself who have voiced their opinions and we have listened. Over a year ago, we took the first step in restricting smoking by prohibiting its use at the Cafe table-side. Shortly thereafter, we banned smoking from the entire bar area and formed a non-smoking area underneath the Cafe awnings. Smoking is, of course, prohibited in all our Guest Rooms. Most recently, we have discontinued the sale of cigarettes at our Front Desk. Moving ahead this year, we are slowly working towards the kind of changes you are suggesting. We are mindful that some of our guests will firmly support these changes, whereas others may need to adjust to get used to the new guidelines. In any case, please rest assured that we are moving ahead in hopes of nurturing everyone's vacation habits regardless of their smoking preferences. Your concerns over the use of the use of the facilities by visitors is an issue we have also been aware of. There is a huge demand from the outside community to also enjoy our Resort and we are delighted that we are able to offer memberships and day-visitation to these individuals. Naturally our priority has, and always will be, our In-house guests. We constantly strive to maintain a delicate balance between the two.
