Most likely a staffing issue, but both restaurants acted as if they didn’t want customers. Breezes food (probably same as room service kitchen) was atrocious. Unfortunately, it’s also insanely overpriced.

Pool was fun for kids, beach is nice, water sports are convenient and fun. Room itself was nice, although the kitchen supplies were sad (toaster might be the cheapest piece of equipment I’ve ever seen).

We stayed here for 1 night while passing through Miami to Key West. It was so refreshing to see so many families there on vacation and was the first time I felt a sense of normalcy during this time. The rooms are a bit dated but it goes with the vibe of the hotel. The view of the ocean is great. The beach and pool area can get crowded so go early if you want a chair.

This hotel does not deserve the Marriott name. It is a run down dump in need of a major overhaul. As soon as we checked in we could not wait to leave. It’s as if Marriott had their identity stolen.
Debbie greeted us and she was friendly and helpful but it went straight downhill from there.
Apparently they aren’t aware of Covid, as they are not even pretending to manage social distancing at the pool- and any empty chair had a wet or used towel. The AC barely worked and the WiFi is faster on an airplane. Special thanks to the staff that never brought us extra towels- 2 towels for a 2 room suite with 4 people was a really nice touch.
We cannot understand the high ratings at this place.
We used to feel strongly that we could trust the Marriott brand anywhere in the world. But after staying at the Key Largo property this is no longer the case.

We come to this resort yearly to celebrate my husband's birthday and our anniversary. Married here in 2005. Wonderful property. Gus's Grill never disappoints. Even with a downsized menu we enjoyed all of our meals here this year. The staff are taking all the needed precautions for COVID. I felt very safe in the restaurant and on the beach.
A bit disappointed with the other guests at the pool and lack of adherence to social distance. Also many guests were disrespectful of the property. Leaving trash everywhere, lighting off fire works at night.
We had a beautiful suite that was remodeled. Had an issue with the AC but engineering came in less than 10 minutes to fix it.
We'll be back next year! Or maybe sooner??

I rarely write bad reviews but this property was so disappointing I am compelled to warn my fellow travelers.

Normally, Marriott is a brand that you can trust but this property is a 2 star hotel, not a 4 star resort. It appears to have been built in the 80's, it's exterior corridor, the beach is tiny, the pool is packed with no social distancing, the parking garage is a joke, and they charge $15/night for parking. Kids running around screaming and yelling after 11pm with parents nowhere to be found. Probably not surprising considering the guests at this hotel appear to be Motel Six regulars.

The overall condition of the property is run down and in dire need of maintenance. The pictures on the Marriott website are completely deceiving as well. Consider yourself warned and stay away from this place.

Dear hahabye, I am very sorry you did not enjoy your stay. I am somewhat surprised by your review. We have just completed a major renovation of our rooms and pool deck and both are exceptionally well maintained. If you stayed during the July 4th holiday, the hotel was quite busy with families this could explain the volume of business at the pool and beach. Again, my apologies your stay did not go as planned, we do appreciate the feedback.

The beach above the waterline is very well groomed, and yes there is plenty of seaweed in the water... we weren't bothered by it, and enjoyed using our snorkels and masks to find interesting fish in the sea grass and seaweed... it's definitely a trade off... a quiet almost private beach vs acres of pristine white sand... if you want the latter, this isn't the place for you...
