If you’re looking for a room in a budget this is it .. it was clean and bug free which is important and that’s all that matters . But ......There was a slight damp scent and the bathroom door would get stuck on doorway. Mattress would kinda slide away from headboard too.. it’s not the quietest place to stay either noise throughout the night
I booked this place through AirBnB, so my following comments are based on my experience as an AirBnB traveller.
Price: Canadian dollar $80 a night in Hallandale in August is a good price. Hard to beat that price anywhere else.
Location: one block from Walmart, less than a mile from the beach, three miles from the beautiful Aventura Mall. Lots of restaurants nearby, this is an awesome location.
Check-in: very easy. We just went to the front desk and the staff had all the paperworks ready for AirBnB guests.
Parking: free, but not enough stalls for all guests.
This hotel is over 70 years old. Nothing is new here. They gave us a room on the second floor. No elevator, so we walked upstairs. The common hallways are actually outdoor with A/C sticking out from every suite's window, so a lot of water dripping out of these A/C units. Therefore wet concrete hallways. But once inside the suite, it was clean enough. Tile flooring throughout, no funny smell. Mini kitchen without a stove. A small clean bathroom. Nothing fancy, just very basic.
So if you're on a budget, this place is great. If you have high expectation, book somewhere else.
WIFI: Not available in any suite. You have to go to the main lobby (this is a big lobby) and the WiFi signal is very strong.
No breakfast, only coffee available in the lobby in the morning.
Hope the above info helps.
Rented a room privately so cannot speak for the hotel service. It's basically a low price motel but the rooms are fine. Nice pool area with lots of sun loungers and shade. A lot of snowbirds in March when we were there. Met some nice people.
Location is great - right beside a strip mall which contained Winn Dixie, Burlington and Ross and some nice restaurants. Right next door to a CVS and a few minutes walk to Walmart.
Parking was never an issue and the grounds were kept neat and tidy. It might not be for everyone but it served our purpose.
Place is a dump. Don't stay here. Dirty. Garbage all over. Room in bad shape. Stained linens. Maintenance guys hang around on stairs smoking. Only good thing is locatuon. Seedy at nite. Homeless hanging around
DON'T DO IT. Room appeared lower than average as it smelled bad and I complained immediately but we only planned for 1 night stay as our AIRBNB was double booked so we were desperate. I learned that Cockroaches are Nocturnal and when we got back at night OMG we were shocked. Noel at Front Desk is very nice but that's it. Please DO NOT STAY there, it,s the nastiest place I have ever stayed in, well actually we did not stay, we left at 11:30 the same night. I am attaching pics of the roaches...gross
