A little bit run down but for those that appreciate the welcoming scenery and the view of natural landscape and sea will definitely love this nostalgic place. It is a very private place and have that fishing village view. Recommended for family retreat that want to have a bbq party (with no charge for the bbq pit) and do not mind of not staying in a luxury place. Although the place a bit run down, you can expect a comfortable bed, well-function air conditioner and friendly service from the staffs except for the TV signal but that just a minor issue as we come there to have fun and leisure with our beloved family. The staffs will help you as best as they can if you ask nicely. We are satisfied with our stay and hopefully the management can renovate some of the facilities such as the swimming pool to make the place more vibrant. Overall, thank you so much for having us!
The road toward this 'villa' is dead end. Basically you drive till the end of Lundu. I put high expectations toward this trip and made a day trip there. Basically upon reaching, you will see a monkey in cage, and 3 porcupines, then a crow.. Walked few feet will see some turtles in the man made pool. That's it. Basically the main attraction is the marine turtles. There are also 2 'swimming pools' which are slightly bigger than the one the turtles are in. Despite the luxury name 'Pandan GoldCoast Holiday Villa', the place is terrible and poorly managed. Or should i say no maintenance. Sorry to say it should be named as 'Kampung Homestay'. This is no place for a holiday. At that rate, please go else where nearby with many other facilities. For staffing, I dont know who are the staffs as they looked like family run business with no one entertaining us at all. RM 250 per night? Ahahaha...I wont even consider staying overnight at RM 20 per night.
I spent only one night and that was good enough to really put me and my entire family off the place. To begin with, we paid RM250 for a miserable room with no room coffee making facilities. Nevermind the fact that the bath-room was clogged or the air-cond was not cold enough...there was only one channel playing on their TV...and that was in Chinese! The room was extremely small and we had a view of the brick wall (which was just constructed), and therefore very messy.
When we stepped out of the room later that evening, imagine the shock we had when we saw our neighbours sitting in front of our room along the corridors, cooking meal with his family. And having little children running and screaming along the corridors till the wee hours of the night was far from describing the place as "peaceful". Even the bedsheets were infested with dust mites as my mother and my daughter had developed tiny swells over the night.
The so called "swimming pool" was more of like a water catchment tank with no proper vents and therefore, after a few dips from a few people, the water turned into a sickly murky shade.
The only consolation about the entire trip were the friendly receptionist, baby turtles and the mouse-deer.
Food is not really accessable. The closest eating place was about few minutes walk from the place we stayed. And we paid RM36.00 for a miserable plate of fried rice and two plates of fried noodles.
I've definitely seen way better beaches around Lundu and Santubong and paid much lower rates for much better facilities than what I had paid for this so called "hidden paradise".
Really disappointed that my family vacation had turned out to be a living nightmare. Would definitely not recommend the place to anyone who is looking for some peace and relaxation with the family.
