Great place to stay in Lake Elsinore! The rooms are cleaned everyday, the staff are friendly and nice. The pool and hot tub outside are also very clean and really make the stay pleasant. Just a nice, no-hassle, relaxing place to stay—also CJ's restaurant is downstairs and has really great food, and then of course the casino is there too. In a quiet part of town.
I had to drive to California from Arizona for my daughter's doctor appointment and I was on a strict budget and decided to go with the cheapest room rate, after all the rooms didn't look bad in the pictures....big mistake! I was in room #206. First the location of the hotel was very sketchy, the rooms were terrible... nothing like the pictures, the toilet was wobbly and really loose, the shower made a horrible screeching noise...ear piercing, the carpet was horrible...don't think it was flattened out and glued to the floor completely, the bathroom counter was lime green, the wifi wasn't working...they said it went down the day before, the bottom floor of the hotel smelled like cigarette smoke...even though the hotel says it's 100% non-smoking, the walls in the room were concrete block walls...need I go on. I think not. I never seen anything like it before in my life!
I went down to the front desk to ask if they were in the middle of renovating. They looked at me like I was crazy and said why. I said because this room I have looks nothing like the pictures I have on my reservations. Come to find out, she told me there was another part of the Encono Lodge hotel behind them and that one is much nicer with renovated rooms...those where the ones with the pictures from their website. I told her that was false advertisement. She said, I know. I didn't pursue it further, just thought to myself it's only one night...thank God.
The only reason why I gave it one star was because the pool area was surprisingly nice and there was a restaurant that had decent food.
The moral to this story is cheaper isn't always better! Splurge a little to have piece of mind that your in a safe area and a decent looking hotel specially when traveling with children.
This is not your typical econo lodge. While they need to finish the remodel on the outside and the parking lot they have done alot inside.
I was given an upgraded suite room. Fairly large sized room.
I was surprised but the carpet is new.
All furniture is new too.
Bathroom is still on the small side but it's functional.
Concrete walls mean you hear less of your neighbors.
Ac unit needs fixing or replacement as it struggles to keep the room cool.
Tv needs to be replaced because you can turn the volume to 50 and it's still not that loud. Plus the fan from the ac drowns it out hard.
Good tv channel lineup. An updated guide would be nice.
New curtains please. Current ones look terrible and don't black out the room enough in the early morning.
Plenty of parking.
Pool area looked decent and they have cabanas.
I liked the added touch of bottled water in the fridge and organic teas in room.
This econo lodge should be a model for the rest. The owner clearly cares about room presentation and with a few touches here and there it can be even better.
I would stay again if I got the same room type.
The outside of the hotel is a bit shabby and this is not helped by a very smelly carpet in reception and hallways. The reception staff didn't seem to know where our room was and sent us up to the wrong accommodation block. Apparently I had been offered a room upgrade and then didn't get it. The room was surprisingly well fitted out with AC, TV, fridge, iron, hairdryer and coffee machine. The décor was very basic, painted brick gave a very austere finish to what was a large clean room. The dining area was very basic and shared the bar area for the 24 hour casino. I asked 3 staff where to get dinner; none of them recommended the hotel. The continental breakfast was very poor quality food combined with disposable bowls and cutlery.
The saving grace is the pool and Jacuzzi, clean and well maintained.
Pulled into the parking lot didn't realize it was part of a casino and it looked very homely.... my first thought was the rooms were going to be smelly and ran down, but to my surprise the rooms were absolutely gorgeous probably the most comfortable bed I have slept in, in a hotel... when I checked in the girl was very helpful and delivered exceptional customer service..... there was a pool by the rooms that we stayed in that was empty didn't look like it was being repaired at all, so if we wanted to go in a pool we would have to walk to the other side of the casino. That was a little bit of an inconvenience........ especially through a dark parking lot in an area that we were unfamiliar with...... The next morning we were woken up by an abrupt continuous knocking on the door saying housekeeping and we had our door knob sign on the door that says do not disturb, I kind of felt like it was done on purpose..... I also called the front desk that morning and asked for a late checkout the lady put me on hold came back and said the latest I can give you is 11 and she was very rude about it.......in my mind isn't that a normal checkout times???? If a hotel doesn't offer late check out they should address that to the customer as they are checking in.....
