Let me tell you why you want to stay at the moving hostel travel bar.
1. The accommodation:
Rooms are spacious, clean and maintained on a daily basis. Theres a verity of option and all of them are reasonably priced
2. The location:
Just outside of city center, located on a slight hill which means you get a view of the beautiful lake from your bedroom window, which makes waking up even more sweet in this amazing hostel
3. The staff: Christo, Maxi, Nikky, Belen and all of the staff treated us like family. From helping us with a taxi to the bus station to advising about car rental cervice and cooking us a freaking BBQ dinner just because he FELT LIKE IT.
4. The guests:
I dont know if its on purpose or not but the other guests were all in the same good vibe, from a verity of nationalities and also different ages but in this specific hostel everybody were friends.
Iv'e stayed in this hostel twice alredy and would definitely stay more if ill come to Bariloche. Do yourself a favor and book now.
Christo, if you're reading this, thank you for everything and also in Israel, siempre hay logar para familia ❤️
I stayed one night in mixed dormitory.
The dormitory room was equipped with mixed of single or bunk bed for 10-12 people, and single toilet/shower to share for all, which clearly was not washed or being cleaned in a while, it was absolutely disgusting.
The price for 1 night was US14$, and if paid with credit card , they wanted to charge 10% more (I haven't heard of this in Argentina).
I paid with cash on arrival (with a friend) without asking for a receipt and later they claimed that I didn't pay, really unprofessional.
It seems that the owner is more concerned with getting money than paying attention to the hostel and refurbishing it.
Okay I'll start with the positives...
The staff were all friendly and helpful.
We arrived early in the morning before the check in time, but we were able to go straight to our room as it was ready and use their facilities.
There were four showers and they had amazing pressure and were hot!
The bathrooms were always clean and tidy.
We were able to store our luggage safely on the day of our check out, as our bus to Puerto Madryn was later in the afternoon.
Their hostel cat is SO cute and friendly. I loved my cuddles with the fluffy, grey feline!
The room was spacious, warm, the bed was comfortable and we had gorgeous views of the lake out our window.
The coffee at breakfast was good. They provided bread, jam, juice and pastries for breakfast.
Now for the cons...
After our first night at the hostel, we were asked if they could go into our room. That was fine, we didn't mind. They had an exterminator coming in to spray the mattresses. My partner said the exterminator said "Oh they have bed bugs." And the worker said "No, no it's a preventative." So we thought okay, they're spraying all the beds maybe they are being cautious. Well right before bed time that night what did I see a bed bug crawling up the wall. Disgusting! My partner also woke up with two huge bites on his shoulder that were still really inflamed days later.
The wifi was terrible, it kept dropping out constantly. So much so, we had to go to a cafe to do our planning days.
The hostel staff let us check in quite early at about 10am which was nice. The free breakfast was basic but good as well. Our room absolutely stunk and had a heater cranked up so high that we couldn't turn off. Lots of ants in the tiny kitchen space as well. Good location about 10 minutes walk from the centre.
This is a very good hostel for the rates they offer. We booked a private room and it was great. The staff was amazing, they gave us great tips and information about the city and all the activities we could do in Bariloche. The location is very good, next to everything. We would definitely be back!
