Me and my wife went on Honeymoon and ended up at Simola for our final two nights and regretted not booking our entire Honeymoon at Simola Hotel and Spa because of the excellent service they provide along aith a great breakfast and breathtaking views, don't forget about the peace nd tranquility, Warm pools with Sauna and the room just makes you feel at home with immediate effect. Will definitely return.
What a special treat for friends playing golf in Knysna area!! Private suites were smart, very spacious and spotless. Breakfast, dinner and general service in hotel was fantastic. Pity about load music late into the night in apartment next door 😩. Will definitely be back with wife for romantic getaway as well!!
The overall experience was mediocre.
We expected a little more from the establishment with regards to general house keeping, level of service with the staff that dealt with us on arrival and the upkeep of the fittings. Not 5 Star.
Setting was Beautiful, room layouts and sizing is perfect. Spa and treatments were amazing even if the Sauna was off limits due to Covid 19 Regulations
Breakfast was average and the Kitchen seemed rather flustered with the minimal guests in attendance. I have honestly had better breakfasts in better 3-4 star establishments - The Capetonian CPT & Blue Lagoon Hotel EL can give you guys major pointers.
All the best! i would not reccomend as a first choice in Knysna
This hotel sits high above Knysna with stunning views over the Heads, the Knysna Lagoon, and all around the mountains.
The breakfast at the restaurant is twice as enjoyable on the veranda where you can almost feel the sea breeze. The main restaurant was closed and the Club Lounge menu was very limited, but that gave us an excuse to explore the restaurants in town.
We stayed in an Executive Suite consisting of two ensuite bedrooms, lounge/kitchenette, and veranda. It was well-equipped (two fridges and a separate freezer as well) and the beds were very comfortable. Upholstery and carpets need some stain treatment and perhaps even replacement, but it was quite acceptable in general.
Neighbours who were clearly staying in a group were very noisy till after midnight - bad luck I suppose.
The spa is a treat - friendly staff, great ambience, wonderful massage and facial.
We stayed three nights and could easily have stayed longer - I think golfers should probably plan on at least that many days - the course looks challenging but beautiful.
We would probably stay again if the opportunity arises. Birdwatching can be done in comfort from your veranda where the fynbos comes right up to the room!
We thoroughly enjoyed dour few days staying at Simola. The suite was so comfortable with fantastic views over the golf course and lagoon. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful and the flowers and biscuits on Valentine’s Day were a lovely touch.
