Stayed 2 nights in the single house. Gorgeous grounds and old village style with tons of original features. Really chilled which is what I was looking for.
Must say that after reading a few reviews which mentioned worn/rotted timber I can see how this place is a bit of an OHS nightmare, not for the young and nimble but if you are unsteady on your feet or vision impaired I wouldn’t recommend ... lots of tripping hazards.
Very generous breakfast and food was good but a little hit and miss. It seems you are given 2 yoga passes a day. I had informed them that I had a late flight on the day I checked out and they stored my luggage and offered I could use a shower near the restaurant. I had kept a pass to do the afternoon class before going to airport for a late flight but was informed couldn’t use it as was after 12 noon. This is One thing I was very disappointed about, it seemed so ridiculously inflexible given it’s pretty pricey to stay there and I’d been an awesome customer (had a couple of spa treatments and extra meals so quite a high spend) when I questioned this and said I hadn’t been informed of this restriction there was no apology or concern. It’s the little things that leave a residual feeling like not appreciating your custom enough to be a little flexible.
My room was sweet, rustic, tiles falling off bathroom wall. Also in room phone didn’t work and DVD player and tv didn’t either, after informing there seemed to be no intention to ever address.
Pool is salt water, had it too myself on a number of occasions and so much nicer than all the strongly chlorinated pools. Could hear the music from nearby beach clubs at night but not too loud.
This is my 2nd time to this beautiful retreat and I am already booking my 3rd for next year. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, they all know your name, always checking up on how your stay is. The food is delicious and most is grown in their organic gardens on site. The retreat is just stunning and so well kept and cared for every attention to detail. This is probably the most beautiful kept hotel I have been to and I have travelled all over the world. I stayed in room Nashar which was huge with a lovely outside bath, toilet and shower, the bed was very comfortable and I had a huge porch with beautiful views of the gardens, at night I would sit outside and it was just so peaceful. The breakfast is delicious with lots to choose from and very fresh and the same with lunch & dinner, staff in the restaurant work hard and are so efficient and friendly it was nice to see some familiar faces from last year when I visited.
The spa here is my favourite in Bali, the treatments are outstanding and the Therapists certainly know what they are doing they are highly trained, prices are very good too I have nearly tried the whole Spa menu.
I did quite a few Yoga classes, the teachers are some of the best which makes the classes so much more enjoyable, they have different level classes but most classes accommodate for beginners. While I was there I met Tom the owner who was again very friendly and chatty, asking how my room was and if I was enjoying my stay etc. I would just like to thank Tom and everyone at Desa Seni for always welcoming me and making me feel at home while I stay with you. I look forward to seeing you again next year and this time I am bringing my friends too.
Spent part of our honeymoon at this resort and everything was amazing from the room to the spa, restaurant, yoga and more. It's a full-body wellness resort. You can nourish your mind, body and soul.
The restaurant gets most of its food from the on-site organic gardens that are situated across the premises. The spa was absolutely terrific and offers all types of treatments -- massages, wraps, scrubs, facials and more. The yoga studio provides a number of yoga classes in different styles every day. So you can cleanse and improve your body in any way you desire.
"Seni" translates to "art." That's what this resort is. It's a piece of art with everything hand selected with an aesthetic purpose from the rainbow pillows to the saltwater pool and the pathway stones.
The staff were some of the nicest people we met in Bali and were always willing to assist with anything and everything. They set up taxi rides when we needed, transport to excursions in various parts of the island and the you can book the excursion you'd like through them the front desk as well. If you want to stay close by, there is a beach within walking distance and a nice night spot that isn't too rowdy a mile and a half away.
We had an amazing time on our trip and think you will too!
Stayed for 4 nights. Loved the entire experience. The food, the day spa, and yoga classes. Staff extremely helpful & helpful! Couldn’t really fault the place other than kitchen staff rarely come back to take room service dishes, sometimes still there 24 hrs later (only minor & easily resolvable).
A slice of heaven on earth! I just stayed three nights at Desa Seni after a long business trip to Hong Kong. The resort is perfect in every respect. I wanted somewhere to go and stay—a resort with everything from which I didn’t have to leave and this was that. My room was huge; it was literally a house that they moved from somewhere in Indonesia to Desa Seni. The pool was perfect: temperature, very clean, all depths, saltwater etc. The spa was elegant with great services and value. The staff throughout the resort were incredible and there are a lot of them. The food at Desa Seni was the best one can get at any hotel in the world. Everything is organic with a high % of the ingredients being grown on site! What’s not is sourced from the most discerning local distributers, the massive coconuts for example are from Lombok and the oatmeal is from two places in Indonesia (a mixture of oatmeal and grains). Every ingredient is along those lines. The most relaxing and heathy oasis, highly recommended.
