We came to the hotel early morning after bus trip from Bangkok. Although the reception has been closed, we could stay inside and right after opening of the reception we got the keys from one room to get shower and put the luggage inside.Room was well equipped, large and clean. There was swimming pool in the hotel as well. Breakfast rich and tasty. Staff professional and very helpful. Perfect value for the money.
We really loved this place... Nice and clean room, quiete and very comfortable. Swimming pool was a nice plus 😁 we also had a good thai massage for 200 baht. Location is very good, close to the night market, with plenty of options to eat around. They also have a nice restaurant (breakfast was included and was good!l
Pai Resort in Sukothai is a clean, reasonably priced place to stay in New Sukothai. I write this review mainly to rave about the massages we got.
In town there are a number of massage shops and the staff call at you to come in as you walk by.
As a practitioner of Thai Massage myself, that demeanor seems incompatible to the form.
We saw that Pai Resort offers massage at basically 200 baht per hour and decided to give it a try.
When I asked for the appointment two practitioners (one for me, one for my friend) came within 20 minutes.
They washed our feet and then had us lay on the clean and comfortable low thai massage beds in the spa room.
From there we got authentic northern style thai massage.
Speaking from my direct experience with the woman named Penket (sp?)who worked on me, I felt her to be a true healer who understands the form deeply.
Channels in my body feel deeply refreshed and recharged. Areas that had felt imbalanced, including a longstanding shoulder injury feel markedly more easeful.
People going for real thai massage should know that the experience is not neccesarily easy. It can be borderline painful at times...
When I practice I give every session a minimum of two hours and gradually warm people up to deeper work. From what I can tell this is a western approach (I am from the US). In Thailand any good massage I have ever had has not offered that cushioning to the experience.
I will book another session today!
And in other ways Pai resort is clean, it has a swimming pool, it has decent rooms in a gradation of price options, the staff are lovely, and the cafe serves lovely food and good coffee.
:)
My family and I stopped in here for massages and had pretty bad experiences all around. When we asked for pants they said they didn't have any and we'd have to wear our own, which is odd for a Thai massage place and was difficult since we were all in jeans. After 10 minutes or so, someone arrived with pants and told me I'd have to change in the main massage room behind a towel. The whole thing was kind of odd, and I'm saying this as someone who's gotten many massages in Thailand so I'm not expecting a fancy spa experience.
The massage itself was much worse as we all felt our masseuses probably weren't certified. I got an hour long foot massage that I think did more harm than good including a very confusing move where the masseuse pressed firmly down on my knee caps. All of her moves were vaguely reminiscent of Thai massage, but just off enough that she ended up hurting me in the long run.
The space seems nice enough, I just wouldn't suggest massages.
One of the best choices in Sukhothai (the new city) . Excellent location 5 minutes walk to the local market and the bridge and one minute walking from the local buss to the old city ,
5 minutes driving to the bus station . Stayed in the bungalow type room that was spacious and comfort . The pool is very nice . Excellent restaurant serving local and western food .
Breakfast was tasty . the stuff was very friendly and helpful . Recommended !
