This resort was a special find !
Beautiful beach with views, hammocks and seating areas.A pool, clean and again designed thoughtfully with relaxation in mind.
The food at the onsite restaurant/bar was outstanding with a great choice of quality prepared meals....cocktails fabulous!
The hosts were attentive and friendly their service staff always greeting you with a smile.
The room was spacious clean and comfortable and we are already planning our return visit.
Hope to see you very soon!
I stayed only 2 nights which is definitely not enough time here in this perfect piece of paradise.
The beach is quite, not the best water quality but during low tide it’s possible to reach small pieces of sand dunes in the middle of the sea.
The sand in front of Pha-ngan beach resort
is daily being cleaned by the staff which is very nice.
We stayed 8 people in all but 4 people in each family villa almost beach front,- 3500 bath a night, ok fair value. Just keep in mind that it is only 1 big and spacious room with 1 bathroom.
Nice decor and stylish. It looked a little like Greek style.
On ground floor was a huge kitchen with almost everything you need for cooking and for long term stayers.
Only downside was the many huge steps on a steel staircase you need to climb to reach the bedroom and bathroom.
The restaurant had great Thai and western food but the fruit shakes was a little thin.
The waiters gave very good and personal service.
Easy to rent a scooter at reception for like 200 bath a day.
At our arrival to the resort nobody helped us carrying our big bags, which I found very odd??? Everywhere I have traveled in the far east Asia, this service is always provided no matter what time you may arrive.
It was very hard to carry my big suitcase up the steel stairs to the bedroom.
But when all comes down to it, I have no doubt returning to this Island and this beautiful resort.
My boyfriend and I booked a three day visit here. After seeing the state of our room, we left after one hour. The room was not secure, it had a flimsy lock which wouldn’t have survived a strong gust of wind. The room itself was very basic, and there were insects crawling in the room. The bathroom was awful , the shower was almost directly above the toilet and there was no separation between the two. The bathroom was open to the outside bar a sheet of metal which was acting as a roof. The room was so different to the photos , it was unbelievable. My boyfriend and I decided to leave, and told the staff why we were leaving. The hotel staff were dishonest to the booking agents when we applied for a refund. I would avoid this place. There are FAR nicer places in the area for less money
Stayed in one of their air conditioned bungalows. On arrival they insisted on taking one of our passports and holding on to it (this is not normal - other places we stayed in just photocopied it) - when this is against Thai law which states you should always have your passport on you. They also inform you that you will be charged for damaged sheets or stains etc (which is reasonable), BUT - the bungalow we went in on arrival had damaged and some stains on the sheets!
We then got taken to our bungalow. These do not have a normal front door lock but a hasp and staple (shed door lock). This combined with the fact it is a thin front sliding door on a thin wooden frame mean't the room was not secure. Adding to this, inside of the bungalow there is no safety deposit box - there isn't anywhere safe to store valuables (again, the majority of places we stayed in provided these and here didn't). The main room has only one power outlet in the small TV cove - which mean't charging any electronic devices was difficult.
The attached bathroom was very basic and badly thought out! Firstly it isn't a sealed unit, it is like a shed bathroom - the top of the walls are not sealed to the sealing but open to outside - so when you're in it at night with the light on, insects flood in. The electric shower is directly beside the toilet meaning whenever it is used, the toilet is completely soaked.
To get from the bedroom to the bathroom is another one of the thin sliding doors. You open it and there are two breeze blocks that take you down to the level of the bathroom. The sliding door doesn't stay closed on its own and cannot be locked - to keep it closed you have to use a cabin hook that is provided on the bedroom side and even with this it isn't perfectly secure. This again not only makes the bedroom less secure but also allowed bugs into the room!
We checked into the room and were there for around an hour and in that time multiple insects had migrated into the room and were on the bed!
We decided to leave, informed staff that we were unhappy and explained why and left for alternative accommodation (the same night we arrived). We informed the booking agent we went through that we felt mislead and were unhappy and they contacted the resort who claimed the reason we left was due to a change of plans and not because we were unhappy - which was a complete lie. There is much better accommodation in this area at the same price and I highly recommend not taking the risk with this place. The photos are very misleading!
Kho Phangan is a nice place to visit.
The Phangan Beach Resort have also a nice location, but the service and the lady on the reception could be better/ more friendly.
But thing about what you want. We booked a fan room and asked for a AC room. But the upgrade would cost for us 550 Bath a day If you would like to have an AC Room, I can just advice book it directly.
The food was good especially the Salat is really nice.
