Most popular question about the rooms
I saw a picture of an American-style 110 volt outlet. Are those available in every room? It would be nice to not have to bring a converter.

They have them but in Brazil the european two round pin is more common. An adapter is highly suggested.

10 days' stay and the room was comfortable enough once I rearranged the furniture in a suite that had a living room the size of a closet in my home. Lame brains serving coffee in the morning and the standard room where you will pay for everything you use. The entrance to the hotel is a bit annoying as it's hardly room enough for one car, let alone one car going each way and people using the main entrance. Too much mold in the shower. some disinfectant or bleach would be a good thing to give the maid. The hotel is great if you don't look too close!

Great hotel! Breakfast was superb! Stuff very helpful and friendly. Room not huge but very comfortable. Good A/C. Great shower. Not like US hotels, but we were very satisfied. They helped me arrange a car and driver for the day. Hotel is in a great location. Could walk to lots of attractions, restaurants and shops.

Dear Trawlergirl Thank you for your comments! It is a true pleasure to read we have been suceeded providing great services. We are trying few alternatives concerning the room/elevator keys in order to avoid some difficulties some guests are pointing as well. Very soon this issue will be solved. I hope to welcome you back here at Melia Paulista in your next visit to São Paulo. Regards, Natalie Diorio | General Manager

Bad attitude from check in staff, unfriendly, inattentive and unhelpful. Extremely slow, check in 45mins. Rooms do not match photos. Interiors in room old, hallways are filthy & old and smell of cigarettes, furnishing is old, rust in bathroom. Old wall hairdryers that broke and they had to bring me up a plug in one that I was threatened with if I didn’t return it. I would ask you to reconsider staying here completely it’s not worth it. The WiFi is awful too. The old kettle had some 1950 UHT congealed milk powder and the coffee granuals are gummy and it takes like a cup of chemicals. It’s more of a life and death challenge staying here. I’m lucky I got out alive. Do you want to take that chance ? No I didn’t think so.

Dear Andrea Your review was very much appreciated and I wanted to thank you for sharing your experience with us. Our team always strives to accommodate our guests to the fullest extent and for us your happiness and satisfaction are our priorities. Although your experience has been satisfactory, I realize we have not fully achieved our goal. I forwarded your comment about our cards to our management team so that we could rethink our processes and services. The Meliá Paulista would love to give you another great experience again! We're looking forward to your next stay with us! Kind Regards, Natalieo Diorio | General Manager

I arrived after midnight and was given a room facing Avenida paulista. Even with earplugs the traffic noise disturbed my sleep. Next morning I asked for a quiet room and this was quickly organised. Desk staff are very helpful, organising taxis etc. The lobby area is modern and nicely decorated but the rooms could do with some renovation work. The wifi worked well and the breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in hotels in Brazil. The hotel is close to MASP and next to the metro so good for exploring the city.

I made a reservation on-line for a week and then I called 1-800 Customer Service to Upgrade and extend for two more weeks; The CSR gave me room price and I accepted. when I got to the hotel I learned that the rate I was given Utilized my 10,000 Melia reward points. The Melia Paulista Hotel staff told me repeatedly that they will not address the problem even though the problem WAS CREATED by the MELIA CSR. I am still at the Hotel for 4 weeks, and will be here for another week; However, even as a Silver Member, I am completely disappointed at the lack of caring and service to your best customers. Melia Leaves the Customer completely without recource and with total inability to address problems; Your problem resolution process is NON Existent. Senior Management should be made aware of this critical "Gap" that generates huge customer disatisfaction and Negative customer experience
