The hotel is a nice clean and new feel to it. I worked out in the gym and it’s a decent place to get your heart rate up. There are plenty of chairs and tables to enjoy the top floor views. The pool also had a great view.
Very comfortable place, near to copacabana beach (3 blocks aprox), and typical food places. it has pool, gym, wifi, A/C and a great rooftop view (Cristo). Our booking included breakfast (buffet, with a variety of typical fruits that we joyed a lot). I recommended this hotel for a couple trip.
The hotel itself is nice, the rooms are typical Brazilian, small but modern. The elevators in this property were some of the smallest we have ever seen and one was constantly out of service. If you had a few bags you had to wait and wait for an empty elevator. We arrived a little early for check-in( 3:00) at around 2:00 hoping for early check-in. That seemed impossible for the front desk and we were told to wait till 3:00. We waited in the lobby and other guests arriving after us were checked in before us? It was extremely annoying. Around 3:30 we were motioned by the front desk we could check in now, after they had checked in about 10 rooms to people who arrived after us. WTF. They also offer car parking at 35R per day which seemed reasonable but we were told upon arrival that they had no space and were vaguely motioned to a nearby car park at 90 R per day. I just left our car in front of the hotel on the sidewalk in front of the hotel for about 1 hour while we were waiting to check-in and surprisingly they found a space in their parking garage. this was after they parked cars for people who arrived after us but were checked in before us.
That being said about the front desk ineptitude , the hotel was nice and the rooftop pool and bar area were good , although there was a scum line around the pool ( let's clean the pool people) . The included breakfast was surprisingly good and the hotel location was very good. we might consider staying there again due to the location but
would also consider other properties with better front desk service.
We stayed for 5 days in September and had such an amazing experience at the hotel.
It was our first time in Rio, and the reception staff could not have been more helpful! When we checked in, we were immediately upgraded (a lovely welcome!) and given some basic help on how to find things around us (shops for water, the beach etc.) Throughout our whole stay, the reception staff were really helpful, allowing us a later check out time (for free!) and offering advice whenever needed. They were really attentive (something we have found in lacking in other Rio hotels!) and you can tell they genuinely care about your experience with them.
The facilities are good too. The rooms are clean and modern, can’t go wrong! The breakfast buffet was good each morning. We didn’t use the pool facilities (despite it being one of my main reasons for booking!) because the beach was too irresistible but we did go to the rooftop to have a drink one night. Great views of the city rooftops, and you can also see Christ the Redeemer!
We left Rio after 5 days to visit Iguaçu falls (would recommend) and after that returned to a similarly priced hotel with similar facilities for our final weekend... we have been nothing but disappointed with this other hotel and it does not compare to the customer service and facilities at Americas! We wish we had booked the entire stay there!
Thanks to all the staff for being so customer focused. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
It was a quick checkin. Hotel room is pretty modern but the area is very loud outside. Some may like that, some may not. For me, I didn’t mind since your so close to the Cococabana Beach party scene. Very clean inside and out, and a beautiful pool scene. The area outside looks a bit rough, but it really isn’t bad. That’s just Rio, and it’s a pretty residential part of town.
Only complaint? They forgot to give me my VIP Orbitz discount on food and beverages but it really didn’t make a difference.
You’ll enjoy it!
