Stayed in standard room which was really small. Not really sure why but they put us in a room that had a double bed and a single bed, so the only real floor space was taken up by the bed. The room is pretty small but as you are only really there to sleep it wasn't a big problem. There was also a small table and chair at the end of the bed that you had to navigate around but I guess it gave you somewhere else to sit besides the double bed and the single bed, which we ended up putting our suitcases on as there was no floor space.
The hot water in the shower took a good 5 minutes to heat up so we played tag team, so when one got out the other got in. If you're sensitive to light the light on the air con lights up the whole room so you might need an eye mask to block it our so you can sleep. In addition there was a small child crying on the first night and it was so loud I thought they were in the room directly above us, another member of our party also made the same comment and they were on the floor below us so not sure how good the sound proofing is.
Other than the room itself I liked the hotel, excellent pool on the roof with great views of the city, their commitment to sustainability, lights are only turned on by sensors and they have a water filtration so you can fill up your water bottles. Breakfast was the best we had on our trip, it was large and the variety was excellent.
As we were there in September which is not summer, there was no option to eat on site, and if you wanted a drink or a snack you were reliant on the offerings from a drink machine. If you've been travelling all day, might be a negative. There is a large supermarket a couple of blocks away, staff can give you directions on how to get there. I didn't feel as if I was in the middle of a city more like suburbia.
