Stayed here on business and took advantage of the Courtyard's free shuttle from the airport. Room looked into the central atrium on 10th floor, and was right opposite the swimming pool (closed for refurbishment). Rooms are typical of an older Marriott corporate styling and look a little dated, but are otherwise ok.
The hotel restaurants seemed to close quite early - unless you want to settle for. the nightly buffet in the atrium restaurant, however the hotel adjoins a shopping mall with a good selection of restaurants and upmarket burger bars, and there's always room service.
Aside from the mall, a taxi is probably needed to get to most other areas. I tried walking around and it's not easy - much building work in progress around the hotel and not many pavements to walk on.
This was the first time I'd been to the Courtyard since it was very new, about 15 years ago, but it seems to have worn pretty well in the meantime. It is also particularly convenient for the banking and insurance area on Ahmad Al Jaber St.
Unsurprisingly, it is a slightly plainer version of its cousin the JW Marriott, being a bit more functional and a little less expensive. All the same, the service from all the staff was the equal of anything at the JW and as far as I could see, the room had pretty much the same amenities. If you can, try to get one which looks outward rather than into the atrium but I was happy to take the latter because the staff were so accommodating about giving me an early check-in.
The food was great - both breakfast and dinner from the buffet were varied and ticked all the boxes, while (being a curry addict) I could happily eat at Soul and Spice any number of times.
Unfortunately the pool was closed for refurbishment while I was there but the small gym was more than well-equipped enough for me.
The free airport shuttle leaves on the hour every hour, as far as I could determine, which was fine for my purposes.
Although the JW and the Four Points are both undoubtedly a bit more luxurious, the difference in cost and the location mean that I will always consider the Courtyard in future.
The room was good, which was on the 20th floor had a very nice overlook of the city and the pool of the hotel. The hotel has a nice outdoor pool which is available on a very flexible time scale as well as an always-open gym.
The club lounge has a good selection during happy hour, 4.30 pm to 6 pm. The food is very good at that time. It is always open and cold & hot drinks available. Providing snacks at the lounge could be a good improvement. The hotel also has two restaurants at the lobby level. I would recommend the Sushi restaurant over there.
Complimentary airport pickup and drop off is excellent. The hotel has direct access to a mall on the entrance. Also, another mall is in walking distance. The hotel's location is near to the attractions. There are cafes nearby. Especially as a heavy coffee drinker, I was happy that in 1 min walking there are two very nice cafes available.
I was not able to eat breakfast there, but my brother who stayed with me was happy with the selection of breakfast.
The staff is great. They are doing everything they can to provide a good experience. Housekeeping is very good. Rooms are clean and the amenities provided are good. Fast and free internet is provided with both through ethernet cable and wifi.
The only downside, during airport dropoff, the driver was insisting on the tip. Smallest bill that I had was 100 bucks, so I could not tip. Insisting on it, was a bit annoying for me. This small inconvenience can be ignored considering the rest of the good experience.
Overall my experience was very good. I like the staff's approach to "make things right" for their guests and provide a good experience. I am happy to be recognized as a Platinum Elite member. Because of my job, I travel a lot and I am sure that I am going to return to this hotel at my next visit to Kuwait.
I regularly stay at this hotel. Although not a 'luxury' hotel its convenient location, given Kuwait city traffic, and its efficient 24-hour transfer service between hotel and airport outweighs other considerations. It is well-appointed with three restaurants, a cafe, gym and swimming pool. The rooms are adequately equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, good sized desks, free WiFi and bottled water, and comfortable beds. The staff are efficient, friendly and helpful. The hotel adjoins a small mall with a selection of restaurants, coffee houses and various shops. Taxis are always available.
I stay at this hotel on a regular basis for business and I cannot emphasise enough how attentive every staff member is. The service is smooth and pleasant from front desk, restaurants, room service, to airport transfer. Every effort is made to make you feel special and your stay enjoyable. The food is excellent also, and they are always happy to accommodate to suit your requirements. The outdoor pool is very relaxing and the gym is great too. Everything is spotlessly clean and well tended to. I have always been met at the airport by a hotel driver and the journeys are very comfortable, safe and there’s WiFi in the vehicles. Could not recommend this place enough if you’re travelling to Kuwait.
