in the lobby 8Mbps but in the room 0.8Mbps. not good
staffs are kind. just english is not so good
room is clean. bathroom is small
this hotel is in the center of city. KARS
ani ruins is 30km distance. need some money for tour to ani ruins
Our room had no lights in the bathroom, the toilet flush was broken and the brackets holding the shower were broken and the shower head was just laying in on the floor. Rooms were very noisy made worse by the political rallies just before the election. Not sue what is also available in Kars but other hotels must be better a this. The hotel is central with restaurants, shopping and ATM all close.
This is not a three star hotel. It is expensive for being dirty, windows being broken, bathroom drawers missing handles and being destroyed. They give you a triple room which actually has a single bed and a one and a half single bed, the matress being smaller than the frame. The cleaner came in and am not sure what she did but floor was still dirty, some of the cups were left dirty too. The breakfast was extensive but I only had the fresh options rather than the cooked ones. We went there only because we could not find anything better in our budget which was about 120 TL and still we paid more than that.
This review is for all the female solo travellers out there. I was thankful that I was travelling with my husband, as a male staff member attempted to come into my room in the early hours of the morning. When we tried to find out why from reception, they failed to give an answer. Whatever his intentions were, the experience totally creeped me out. Rooms are carpeted and did not seem clean. Bathroom though was spacious and clean. Breakfast looked old which I did not eat to avoid food poisoning. Internet connection was poor as you need to open the door to get a strong signal. We stayed in a standard room on level 4.
My wife and I stayed here for three days, and we had a horrible experience. One of their staff tried to come into our room around 4am in the morning, while we were sleeping of course. We were woken up by the noise and as I opened the door, the staff just looked at me and left. Whether it's a mistake or with other intentions, it's definitely freaky, my wife was horrified by it. Besides, they can only speak around 4% English, so for those who cannot speak Turkish may find it hard to communicate. We even tried Googles translate, but they still wouldn't get some of it. The breakfast is awful I have to say, for a star rated hotel it's not up to the standard. Their wifi signal is free, and very weak. I had to open the door to get connection. One more thing, don't join the Ani tour arranged by them. They charge 60TL per head for a mini bus which stays for 1.5 hr only. You can easily get a taxi which fits 4 ppl for 90TL, and stay at Ani for 3 hours.
