Great location, rooms need updating. Reception staff so helpful with our room move. Couldn’t do enough for us. We stayed at Pirat 2 with a great view of the pool and port. Only downside is the pool bar, bar man thinks he’s on the DJ decks in Ibiza, so loud even in the day. I’m not party pooper but excess dance music whilst chilling around the pool is not ideal. He loves it loud, right next to the kids pool. The location and size of pool of this hotel is superb though. Be warned bar area is loud music
Would anyone have the email address of the pirat hotel? At all. I'm looking to email them as I'm looking for a room in the building were the pool is located. I'm not sure if thats classed as building 1 or 2? So if any one can enlighten me I'd greatly appreciate it. Iv been going to kalkan for 17 yrs and it truly is lovely. This will be my first time staying in a hotel, it will be different but I'm sure it will be lovely. It's just I love the pool so would prefer to be next to there. Kind regards K.
Just got back from Kalkan, stayed at the Pirat as the family villa was full. I was made welcome and although the hotel was very quiet staff were available at the pool bar and other facilities. I requested a ground or first floor sea view room in Pirat 2 but was initially given a room in Pirat 1, when I said that I had made my request by email I was immediately given a lovely room I the raised ground floor. The room had a double bed, a single bed and a sofa, a fridge with drinks, and a balcony. Toiletries (soap, shampoo and conditioner) were provided. There is now a lift to Pirat 2!.
COVID 19 is taken seriously in Turkey and breakfast is not a buffet, it was a selection of cheeses and meat with butter, honey, jam, chocolate spread etc on a plate with plenty of bread and an omelette if requested. Paper cups are provided in the restaurant and room. My room was deep cleaned regularly as was the poolside area and the sun beds.
The hotel has a great location and is excellent value, I am happy to receive it.
We spent two nights in Kalkan while hiking the Lycian Trail in February, and stayed at Pirate Hotel for a rest day.
Pirate Hotel is split in two buildings, a newer one and the old main building.
The newer one is closed during winter time so we were offered a room in the head building where the reception is located.
Just a brief overview: The room was worn-off, the breakfast absolutely not appealling, there was constant noise due to ongoing construction work, and the room price was one of the highest we paid throughout our complete three-weeks vacation through Turkey (and we had stayed at 4 and 5 star hotels as well). After having confronted the person in charge with these circumstances, he showed no sign of reason and insisted on the full amount.
No place to recommend. In off-season, the best places in Kalkan are probably the more traditional pensyions!
We have stayed here many times and always have the warmest of welcomes from the friendly staff. Kalkan is amazing and this hotel gives you the 5 star position to enjoy it with its many restaurants. The breakfast here is lovely with freshly cooked eggs and omelettes plus the usual yoghurts, fruit, cheeses and much more. Our room this stay had been recently refurbished with a beautiful new bathroom and bedroom decor. The pools are fabulous and we had no trouble getting a sunbed. They offer a great lunch time snack menu at such a reasonable price all served by the lovely Baron, such a nice person. The icing on the cake for us is the bar area both day and night made extra special by Reggae who has the most amazing gift of making a party no matter how many people he has and the biggest testament to him is the amount of people who return to the hotel to see him. We will definately be returning.
